He already wants out of there and that sure ain't going to help. He's gone. Who ponies up a bunch for him though with so much uncertainty about his "unavailability to be on the floor". Answer: Some team will I would guess. Unless he as reported needs yet more surgery and then wow. Greg Oden 2.0?
i mean, the post literally directly above mine references cj's recent tear and then connects it directly to the desire to trade AD. but ok.
btw, relatedly, if zion is actually asking out, i'd trade him. you won't get a star haul, but he hasn't proven he can be a star yet. if he's going to leave anyway, cash in now. yes, he might recover and suddenly stop eating everything and sort of injure himself into a sustainable style of play (i.e., lose enough athleticism not to be constantly stressing his joints so badly), but again, by the time it happens, he'll be forcing his way somewhere else or walking in FA.
I’d definitely trad Zion if I’m New Orleans. He just doesn’t seem to have the work ethic that he would need to be a super star. You can’t get by on Athleticism forever. If he can’t even control his diet, it Bode well for working on his body.
My interpretation of the post was not CJ for AD. Was AD for a bunch of assets that then we could use to get superstars (like Pels did to get CJ). So it's more on the process rather than the actual players.
Problem is they're limited in what they can get back because of his smaller salary. Unless they're trading him to OKC for picks, his $13m next year won't get them anywhere near the return they would want for his potential. They don't really have bad contracts they need to dump either.
i mean, we've had the year from hell, they just killed us on our home court, and we're STILL ahead of them in the standings. i want to avoid that process. i will only be forced into that process. yeah, my point is that if it's true he's asking out on top of his injury issues, basically any return is preferable to him just walking in FA. the knicks supposedly want him. can you get alec burks and a couple 1sts with very limited protection?
he's a clutch/big-game performer, too. i have a strong fear of his injury potential (see rose), but as long as he's healthy, memphis is more dangerous than people think just because there aren't many answers to his athleticism and array of shotmaking.
Big fan of Ja, love the way he plays but its also scary with the injury potential as well. Had a few scares this season, hope he can find a way to strengthen the lower body this offseason
For me it goes Dame then Ja in terms of most dangerous offensive scoring guards (not including Curry because he's a 1 trick pony even if he's the GOAT at that trick). One's career is winding down and the other is just getting going. But those are multi level threats that are exciting as hell to watch. We need more guys from that cloth, I think. I hope the injury gods are nice to Ja because they weren't to Rose and they're very similar.
ja may be more like iverson in that his wiry frame is actually an advantage--rose put a lot of force on his knees to move his bigger body as quickly as he did in his younger days. still, though, iverson was constantly banged up due to his style of play and it definitely contributed to his decline. he had maybe one good season after turning 30. but he was underrated before that. anyway, yes, ja was a big get for memphis.
To continue with the Harden hate... Time to drug test him. He's clearly f***ing high on his own supply.
sauce castillo! i remember he killed the lakers in a game a few seasons back. might've been opening night?
stauskas...blast from the past. he was a lotto pick, right? #8 to the kings or something? forgot he existed.
