but again: 2 full years for thompson, 2 partial years for AD.

gs isn't trading thompson; the clips aren't trading kawhi; and we shouldn't trade AD. whatever return it is isn't worth giving up what may be our only shot at having a top-10 player on the roster.

The difference for me is GS got MANY healthy years of Klay, we got 1 year so far of AD and there’s a chance we wouldn’t have gotten that had there not been a stoppage of play. That situation won’t come again unless there is a lockout. AD can still turn it around and stay healthy as a Laker but no way can he continue to miss as many games a year as he is and not be considered injury prone by me.

agree resting him dont agree that itll lead to less injury next yr, we saw same logic after he was out against pho n our early playoff exit

I think it’s our only hope at this point. We aren’t winning anything this year with or without AD. So it gives us our best chance if he works on his core and lower body strength over the summer and we have to hope for the best next year.

well, that and we didn't rest him. we tried to play him in game 6 when he was clearly injured.

basically, he finished the season injured. my point is that even if he's cleared by the medical staff, i wouldn't let him play. send him straight to rehab and conditioning.

and really, if lebron's not playing defense because his knee hurts, he should sit too.

so a "normal" type of an offseason wasn't enough, why not just give him a season or 2 off next time just to be sure he can get "enough rest"

A butt bruise….don’t all Laker fans have that condition from watching our team this year.

this might explain fan hate, but it wouldn't explain strategy difference. if AD's an albatross, so are all those guys. yet none of their management teams seem eager to move on.

but it wasn't. he was injured for who knows how long after that series ended. he could barely move out there.

anyway, think i saw a new thread dedicated to AD trades, so have at it. i'm quite eager to see people's hopes.

thats why I said maybe it'll take a full season or two, then maybe we can get him for 70 games if we're lucky

or we could get nearly 70 games from him after a normal offseason like the first 7 years of his career. or that.

right cause last 2 season clearly pointing that way...if all it took was 1 deep playoff run to break him im sure a "regular" offseason will get him back to "normal"

My proposal is for the Lakers to trade AD and fast-track the rebuild process. I'm fine with moving him either this summer or next. If it was up to me, it would be this summer, but if you want to give the partnership a final go for one more season than ok.

You don't have to agree with that. Also, i'm not complaining, so i'm not sure if your comments were directed at me in particular or the posts from the last few pages, but I simply stated he had a normal offseason this past summer and his body didn't seem to be able to hold up for 82 games. Since we are currently in danger of not even making the play-in he'll have potentially from mid-April to mid October to get his body right.

No, those players are not the same.
Klay had 2 HUGE injuries that made him lose 2 seasons. AD had several injuries during those 2 injuries. It's the shoulder. It's the knee. It's the ankle. It's always something. I just posted a link with 50 AD injuries you chose to ignore.
If you follow the Lakers as I know you do, you have many memories of AD hobbling, going to the locker room, feeling pain in some place. MANY! Even during our chip run, he had issues, even left a game in the Finals.

That's just how he is, I don't get why you're so defensive. He is an absolute beast and healthy is great. But he isn't healthy AND doesn't play like a healthy player so it would be wise to be aware of the market. Not because it's certain that we would be better with other players, but if we are able to trade him for a proved superstar (again, we should be the sellers on this deal) and some assets to round the team/trade for something else, we should consider it.
I understand you don't agree, and clearly you don't have too, but you're really making it personal in any topic and I think you bring great content to the forum

for most an early 1st rd exit = regular off season for AD it reguires half a season out and the off season i guess, even then theres no guarantees he'd last a full season.....talk bout being coddled...maybe Jeannie can spring for one of these things for AD/Bron
