Most analysis of Bronny that I’ve seen pegs him as second round talent. I honestly don’t think it will take much to get him and LeBron on the same team if LeBron is truly willing to sign a smaller contract.

…. and what does that look like in the season if he’s G-League level talent at the most at the outset …. at that age?

Shades of LaVar Ball dynamics for Lakers to deal with again. Not championship or future oriented for sure. Media circus.

Have you seen this roster? G-League talent is better than at least two of the players on our roster today.

We're pretty good at developing our young guys and Handy (a Bron guy) is arguably the best development coach in the game.

Yeah. We’ve got a lot of dead weight on the roster right now.

I don’t know that it’s necessarily us that ends up biting on that. I’m just noting that I don’t think it will take a lot if behind the scenes wheeling and dealing to make it happen

The only fuss right now is the optics from both Lebron and Lakers camp and how they will be perceived.

Let's be honest Lebron isn't fully committed here and Lakers don't care about rings as long as they get the $$$. They gotta move on from each other

Neither camp is looking good at the moment. At least there’s a glimmer of hope in the fact that our FO didn’t cave to every single one of Princess’ demands.

Let's put it this way, Austin Arkansas Reaves forced his way here. What do you think Bronny with the full arsenal of Bron, Klutch, (and if we want to be in the Bron business) the Lakers can do with dictating where he goes.

Klutch is the most powerful force in the NBA with regards its stars. They get what they want and end up where they want. Unless the NBA intervenes, that's not going to change at least while Bron is still playing.

The [sarcasm]best source in the league[/sarcasm] has a new piece on Bron, Bronny, and the Lakers

Pair that with Bron's comments after the Clippers loss
Bucher is a hack and I don't trust his sources, BUT I agree 100% with his opinion on this and I've been echoing the same line of thought since the comments during all star weekend.

    1) Bron doesn't want to go anywhere. He has his hands in too much here to leave LA. His businesses really exploded since he got here. His family is here and really like it here. His other son will still be in HS here.

    2) Bron wants Bronny to join him on the Lakers. We will accommodate that barring an unexpected burnt bridge before then. All involved will influence those who need to be influenced not to get in the way of that.

I know some are ready to be out of the Bron business but before we waste time on ESPN Trade Machine on ways to trade him let's remember where we were before him, that he brought us a ring, and where we'll be after Bron. Even at 40, he'll be the reason we can sign someone like Monk for the veteran minimum or why a friend like Melo comes here to play with him before he retires. Players respect him and that benefits us. The Russ move was a failure for all involved, but AD wasn't and he is only here thanks to Bron.

Everyone is on edge with how the team is playing -- players, the front office, and fans alike. It's why Bron and Klutch had to go on a walk back media tour after these comments blew up the internet. Had we been a 50 win team and he makes those comments, no one bats an eye over them

agree with jsm. lots of breathless concern over something that's a couple years off and likely won't be a big deal at all.

For the members who want to resign Bron after next season, how much are you willing to pay? His next contract could be up to 97.1 million for 2 year. I’m not sure I want to resign him and paying over 48 million dollars a year is a nonstarter for me.

He is lying through his butt or button hole, doesn’t matter which.

when he and AD both signed on for longer than they needed to, i was a bit worried short-term but happy long-term. harder to control things for them. but it also signaled they were losing confidence that they'd continue to be top-5 players.

too many variables for me to say right now, tbh. if the FA market is pretty bare (quite possible), i might do it. particularly if he took a little less to help us use the mle/accept s&ts, etc. again, just too many things i don't know yet.

IMO AD signed a longer contract because he’s injury prone not because he doesn’t believe he’s a top 5 player. Of course if I’m correct that begs the question…..if the player himself thinks they are injury prone, doesn’t that make them injury prone?

It's a huge vote of no-confidence in one's self and especially how he explained it to all of us like it was no big deal and perfectly within moral bounds to do that. It came off to me like "Well based on my injury history, I'm gonna stick it to y'all and take the years now before my stock falls (which it will)."
