Out for the season, obviously. We need to apply for injury exceptions for him and None.

AD is so critical for our team, I don’t really care for the trade him sentiment. There is less than a handful of guys that can provide his level of defence and offence in the league.

If we are going anywhere as a team, it’s with him as a key cog. The injuries just come with it.

I'm calling with optimum recovery and ramp-up speed, at best, he returns 3/27 and again, this is wishful thinking, more likely he returns April 7 for the final 3 games at which point we are likely to be out of the picture. We only have 7 games vs non-playoff teams left vs 17 vs playoff teams who mostly are all good. Hardly any borderline teams and a road-heavy schedule. We are in 9th now and it doesn't look good to hold on for a play-in even.

After all is said and done, AD will have given the Lakers 76-81 games over the last 2 years. At best, less than half the games played. While being 27-28 years old, in his absolute prime. Getting injured in the first round of the playoffs last season which we lost. All this while being able to rely on Lebron being the #1 option not to mention feeding AD the ball. His stats the last 2 seasons have been the worst since he was a 20-year-old. As much as I love his playing when he is on, as a GM you got make some inquiries. A guy playing this many games in his super-prime years is just a red flag. We at least need to explore what we could get if it's a haul of picks and some tier 2 or tier 3 borderline stars maybe take a look-see

That is such an "in a vaccuum" take. He doesn't have the most important ability -- availability, and there is no reason to believe it's going to get better.

What do I care if he is amazingly skillful and a unicorn if he is on the bench not being able to contribute? What you posted translate to: "I believe he'll become an ironman". If that's the case, I have a nice, near mint condition bridge you might be interested in.

not what he said, but go on, folks. AD is a ceiling raiser, not a floor raiser. everybody here claims they want rings, and he's the sort that can elevate you to that. he's not the sort that helps you finish 7th no matter what. if you want that, you can get it. you'll be madder than you are now, though, and i'll be hearing how we need to take a chance on player X from another team, who's great but has struggled with injuries. ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN THIS!

i bet everyone here wants embiid now. what if i would have said that last year?

i bet everyone wants chris paul, who couldn't stay on the floor until he became a back-to-back mvp candidate in his mid-thirties.

people can have bad luck. it takes better luck to even get someone at this talent level in the first place.

So, you are gambling here? Also, your dismissive, sarcastic tone comes off as condescending.

i'm betting that a certain group of people will be complaining even if they get their wish.

you don't like my tone; i don't like showing up and reading the same nonsense every day. trade x, fire x, etc. i don't see why people can't accept that we've had some bad luck. it's weird because the same people are perfectly ready to chalk up our most recent title as completely determined by luck.

it's almost like...they just want to be mad.

losing puts everyone in a bad mood, but especially if you watch the games and see people who are playing far below their capabilities

    this too shall pass

We lucked out on the championship year having that 4 month break, and don’t forget, AD got injured during the Finals as well.

At this point I’d shut him down for the season, its lost anyways. Even if Lebron goes balls to the wall, we’re likely a first round sweep.

We gotta find a floor stretching big to bring in, less AD at the 5. Maybe revamp (and not cheap out on) the training staff, can’t keep having so many injuries. And maybe start rethinking the idea of AD being the #1 option post-Lebron.

Regarding the training staff just don’t see any way they would have prevented any of LeBron’s or AD’s s*** happens injuries from leaping in the air and landing on feet ankle rolls or having big dudes rolling into or falling into both their planted legs.

New staff with better groin aggravation prevention science …. doubtful? LeBron takes care of his body like Kobe did with the intense training.

We aren’t going anywhere with a guy who can’t be healthy enough to play the majority of the games.

There is nothing the best staff in the world can do with a guy who is injury prone.

A better training staff will do a better job with injury recovery. Can't prevent "s*** happens" injuryies but can help with how they come back and prevent lingering issues. Phoenix's training staff kept Steve Nash operable until he broke the moment he was traded here. Often injured CP3 has been relatively healthy during his time there.
