Ok, sure that is also a an alternative. I wouldn't mind Tatum.

what's pt of trading AD for another star? you still be in same position of needing another high lvl player to pair with said star

I love AD and am thankful we have him. I wouldn’t ever trade him as he’s an incredible player on a pretty decent contract considering how great he is.

But saying he isn’t part of the problem this season is absurd. Of course he is. So is Lebron. Despite their great numbers and individual highlights they have not brought it consistently, have both been out long periods with injuries and lately both of them have seemingly thrown in the towel on this year with their words and actions. They are also responsible for the Westbrook signing but I don’t feel like they have really worked to fit him in and have not had his back through the struggles. We only go as far as our superstars will take us and they both seem tuned out. Hard to see that kind of quit on our team. It’s disappointing.

All that said there is still time for them to turn some of this around after the All Star break and make a strong push to get themselves out of the bottom rung of the playin. AD looked ferocious several games ago with back to back dominant performances. If he and Lebron really want to do something this season instead of giving up they have an opportunity.

when you're as bad as we are, everyone's a problem.

but there's way too much digital ink spilled on AD's shortcomings on this site. that is absurd.

We traded Shaq. It was a bad decision. Lakers trade for star players. Remember the simple rule: the team that receives the best player wins the trade. I would only trade AD for maybe 5 players and none of them are available.

exactly my point. you don't win when you're selling a legit max player. they and overperforming rookies are the only people worth more than what they're paid. the odds of any single piece we got back in AD trade being even as good as current AD (much less the AD that has existed his entire career before the bubble injury) are incredibly slim.

tobias harris and cj mccollum and ingram and pascal siakam and guys like that make basically the same money AD does.

if you're thinking the solution to our problems is trading davis, i think you're way off.

Trading AD is not the solution to our current problems.
Is the solution to our future problems

future problems being we don't suck enough?

btw: anyone seen the footage floating around where AD guards like every GS player on one possession and forces them into a sidestep three that drops?

imagine being the only dude willing to defend like that every night. we did him a major disservice with our summer moves.

Whoever said our relationship with Klutch is tenuous is full of it. We had Rich Paul saying how AD would be playing the 5 and LBJ the 4 just a few months ago before the season ok? The agent is telling media who's gonna be playing what. He's in the know with our FO on everything. We've had 8 Klutch players. Relationship is fine.

Can we trade AD for Jokic? No? Then let's forget about these scenarios. He's staying.

In all fairness, he is largely responsible for those moves. It was he and Lebron that pushed for the trade. That doesn't mean we trade him. We just don't listen to him.

Future problems being that he's soft, always injured and you can't rely on him to hold the fort and win by will, like many other superstars

I liked the argument another user posted before though. Indeed, if we trade him we will still need a new LeBron. AD as a #2 is fine, so I get the rationale. Idea was to cash out on a player that have been falling short to expectations, as he should be running for MVP the past 3 seasons and he's not. But we probably have more to gain if we keep him and chase that other superstar

this thread is just an endless repeat, too. it's sort of hilarious.

when AD plays well: why don't you do that all the time?! (nobody does)

real stars do xyz all the time! (really? name them. *crickets*)

trade him! (for whom? how does that improve the team's odds? *crickets*)

he's a #2! (again, then who are the #1s and how do you plan on upgrading? *crickets*)

I would add to that loop:

AD is lethargic -> well when bigs don't shoot it's because the guards are not giving them the ball properly
