I get that abeer3 and you’re probably right but wow I like the Gordon for THT Nunn and filler trade a whole lot better than Richardson and our pick trade. That’s awful. At least Gordon is a better fit and a solid role player.

Btw Gordon does get $20 million next year but 2023-4 is a team option.

gordon adds to our salary, making it harder to retain monk even if we can get russ to take less money. we also lose any potential benefit to having nunn under contract, which i think could be a positive in some circumstances.

The shooting is so tempting: if you look at when the Lakers do best it's typically when Melo or Monk get hot from 3. Add one more sniper and this team becomes really hard to matchup against because you have to deal with AD/Lebron as well.

That’s what is captivating me Pioneer10. It’s the thing that Gordon does well at almost 50% and 42% from three. If you start Russ, Lebron and AD with Gordon and Monk I mean that is a lot of fire power. Plus plenty of depth with Bradley, Reaves, Stan, Melo, Ariza and Dwight for the bench. That’s a much better roster construction than what we have now with THT who can’t shoot, awful DJ and Baze and no Nunn for the foreseeable future since he’s broken.

I know Gordon is on the older side but he’s plug and play. He’s been in teams with Westbrook and AD and he KNOWS his role. He would get wide open looks and he can hit them.

No. Nunn’s coming back within next few weeks likely. Tough love with Russ to make him play D and stop clanking or cut his minutes until then. We’ve blown enough assets already.

Why do you think Nunn is coming back in weeks? Vogel just said he’s nowhere near coming back. That doesn’t sound like weeks. That sounds like maybe next season.

Even if not then chances are he owes us to opt in for next year and we still have THT hopefully (again) better next year and both are promising assets. I don’t think Gordon gets us anywhere of note in the playoffs with all the other holes on this team with small guards to be adding yet another for that kind of money and at his age.

i might be wrong, but i think nunn at 5 million next year is worth more than gordon at 20 million next year.

i'm not denying gordon's a great fit right now. i just think right now is a cruel joke.

I want needs addressed and don't want to waste any time. Only Bron knows where the knee is at. Lot of ifs for Bron and Rob to answer before Thursday...If this is the version we have of AD for the rest of the season and if Bron can play close to the level he was while AD was out, if Monk keeps this up, if Ariza can be a rotational player (like he was in the last game) , if Melo can get back, if you can get a couple guys off buyout, and hit on 1 trade then it doesn't matter what Russ does or doesn't do. Sit his a** when it matters.

I'm not necessarily saying go get Gordon, but I do want to explore every avenue that will give the best chance of winning these next two years. Cause after that, it might be awhile. I don't see a team in the league that can beat this Bron and AD (if both healthy) + slightly better supporting cast in 7.

So if you can turn something like THT, Nunn, Baze and DJ into Gordon and Nwaba from Houston, then Tristan and Thad/Prince in buyout; that's a home run.

I’m here for that as well. I’m not ready or willing to throw away this season yet. I see the same thing - no one really wants to play against a healthy Lebron and motivated AD like we are seeing right now. If we can improve now I’d like to go for it. I don’t see how THT fits during the Lebron era, honestly and the fact that he’s fallen off the map with his play isn’t helping anything. That said I don’t want some of the names I’m hearing and I don’t want to lose the pick.

AD/Bron/Gordon/(Stan or Reaves)/Monk - that is one hell of a lineup there. Strong defenders across the board except Monk. Two elite shooters with a one good utility man between the two stars. I'm tempted TBH - you could really crush teams with that

That’s what I’m saying, Pioneer10! I’m very tempted by that. We need to do something. Could do a LOT worse than a great fit like Gordon at this point.

Yep basically what the Bucks are doing: Johnson in the Portis role, Gordon/Monk to match Jrue/Connaughton, Reaves in the Allen role.

You can waive Russ as far as I'm concerned

We should play Tucker more minutes. He should play more than Bradley in every game. He's going to make some mistakes and have a few defensive laspses on occasion, but Bradley does that now and he's a lot older.

He can’t shoot and is horrible for spacing and fit with the starters. But I agree with you in principle. Might as well give the kids more PT now that this season is in the trash heap. I mean Bradley’s only playing like 15 minutes a game lately. But I like his minutes going to Monk and Reaves. Honestly I don’t know what to do with THT. He could certainly take a bunch of Russ’s minutes at PG.
