i'm really glad for randle, though. he's getting a shot to be a focal point, and it's working for his team. this is something i didn't expect. i knew he'd improve his individual skills because he's a hard worker, but i just felt like his game required being a focal point, and you couldn't be a good team like that. but the knicks are in what, 5th place? with randle and...name their second best player...

testament to thibs still have something in the tank, too, i think. also, i wanted taj gibson as our utility big. but that's for another thread.

Knicks on a 9 game winning streak. They might end up with a better record than us.

Julius is a better player than Ingram and Dlo right now. He's become the best prospect out of all our kids.

Would be great to see the Knicks win round 1 and play the Nets in the 2nd round .

Julius deserves to be in the 2nd all nba team , hopefully he's not pulling the "contract year" thing and will keep his current level of play beyond this season

I don't think it's a contract year thing, I think it's a Thibs thing. If you're young and can handle the minutes he's going to play you and love to hoop, he's a good coach that will get a lot out of his guys.

A Knicks vs. Hawks series(current 4 and 5) would be good if Tre is healthy. If not, Knicks in 5... max.

    Ouch!
He brings other things to the table and I’m rooting for him, but he’s struggling to find the basket.

Atlanta is keying on him...after averaging great #'s and percentage against them in the regular season. Rose is still very good but not the gamebreaker he once was even before Game 3. Barrett is still developing. Holes at the 5 and 3.

Then there's Trae Young. Madison Square Garden has been electric the spitting incident aside.

    the lebron/shaq effect.

but same goes the other way: you can't just bull through people and not expect charges. it's tough to officiate really strong guys.

feel like zion was given really preferential treatment in this regard on the rare occasion he played. he got to bully and also got a ton of FTAs.

so important to understand your place in the world. i thought randle finally got it last year, and it appears it was a contract year blip.

seriously, though...i'd consider it. as would ny, i think.

we could play randle at center and play a switch-heavy defense that way. kemba can still shoot it, if nothing else. can't be much worse than westbrook on defense.

and we'd save some cash. would have to look like this:

    upload_2022-2-7_14-49-55.png

we save a few bucks and get three rotation players for 1! but we're on the hook for long-term salary, so it's not all sunshine.

NY does this why? Considering how bad Westbrook now is and Thibbs made his name on defense?

i don't know. we traded for westbrook with vogel as our coach.

i just think they'd be happy to get rid of several years' worth of randle.
