Agree but he's trending toward being a malcontent now with those blinders on and complete lack of accountability (just watch his body language after the brain farts ... zero "my bad" and on to the next one), and Lebron's comments when asked about him being pulled show he will stick up for his decision to want him here and not support Vogel's decision why he was benching him .... after all the evidence of the areas on offense and defense where he continues to hurt us. So Vogel's going to be gone.

    Yes.

I'm pulling for him for the sake of the team.

If it doesn't work out, this is pretty disastrous.

Exactly. Its why I always rooted for him and even defended him for a bit. We really did need the trade to work out.

Good lord, we gave UP a first to get him, and it would TAKE a first to dump him.. The idea is so painful on top of the players we’ve already lost I don’t think I could do it, especially not when all we get is Wall

just don't. attaching a first to get a different version of westbrook is even worse.

Trading a bad former star for a bad former star and including a pick? Yikes

Jesus is this being considered to make sure we're beyond totally effed when LeBron and at some point probably AD (after all the trashing in L.A.) leave us?

    What else would you expect?

Westbrook is basura and his contract his toxic.

I wouldn't do the deal right now. I'd wait for the summer to see if there are any new possibilities or options on the table.

All these stories coming out and everybody trying to create their own narrative leads to me to believe the Lakers are quietly punting away this season.

    It's over.

It doesn’t sound like WE are considering it. Sounds like this is a source from Houston just floating it out there that THEY would be interested. No indications it’s actually being discussed.

I definitely wouldn’t attach the 2027 1st round pick, but if Houston was willing to do Wall for Westbrook and a 2nd rounder, I’d have to seriously consider it.

still a no for me. same problem with the mammoth unmovable contract. it's as big a problem as the on-court stuff. i'd consider something that broke westbrook into smaller parts, even if those parts aren't good. at least they're smaller.

Oh it was absolutely put out there by Houston, “league sources” are Houston here. My point in posting it was to marvel on what a bad trade it has turned out to be, so bad that it would take US giving up a good pick to get rid of player we gave up a good pic to get. I would hope our FO is not that dumb or desperate.

Well trading Russ’s contracts into smaller parts would definitely be ideal, but I don’t think there’s another team out there that makes the same Kuzma, KCP, Harrell mistake that we did.

Swapping him for Wall may be the only realistic opportunity to get rid of Russ. I don’t think a second rounder is all that big a deal. So yes they have the same terrible contract, but giving up a second rounder to potentially improve the on-court situation isn’t a big deal.

I think The Rock had floated the idea here before; one benefit of swapping Russ for Wall would be that Wall already isn’t seeing any playing time with Houston. Feels like if he came here, he’d be more amenable to a smaller role. And if things don’t go well, we could bench him without stirring up too much drama.

The hope would be that Wall may be on the other side of the Melo/Dwight juncture of a star’s career where they realize they’re no longer star and motivated to accept their role in order to stick around in the league.

Russ isn’t quite there yet. He still thinks he’s a star.

Overall though I don’t see it happening and may actually just prefer to roll the dice on seeing if Russ can turn things around. Then cross our fingers that a better trade opportunity arises in the summer.

    You have some odd takes.

Lebron is 37, he isn’t booting any more seasons away because he doesn’t have many left.

Secondly, you want to chase a bad mistake in Russ with an even worse one by giving away assets for Wall.

We’re going to do the best we can to salvage this season when AD comes back and that’ll include Russ.

Yeah, Much better to wait until the summer.

And I agree its over. Just don't want them to dig a bigger hole by giving up the few valuable assets we have left.
