    Going to be an awkward relationship I imagine until it's over. Rob is probably waiting until after the ORL loss as punishment for the staff leaking the story so Frank will have to be on the plane with and the coach a cranky Russ.

    Bench him then: I got no problems with it. He's been bad this year, better not to get in the sunk cost fallacy too much here.
    He'd better as a 6th man anyway. If you can design some play time with him it would be with Dwight to give him a lob threat and shooting/defenders around him like Reaves

    i'll keep repeating it: i think playing him off the bench is the only way to salvage his career at this point. either he gets the message like melo did, or he's going to be out on his ear.

    I'm sure Vogel would like to but that would be definite suicide and no way the organization wouldn't fire him. Horrible spot to be in.

    I as anti-Russ as they come but even I didn't think he would be this bad, particularly in the regular season where teams don't have a lot of time to gameplan. But you have a guy whose literally only offensive scoring threat is getting to the rim and now when he gets there he can't even finish?

    As @abeer3 has pointed out this is becoming untenable as on top of that he's not a good defender either as a man or off ball so what is the team supposed to do with him? I'm probably a dead ender but there is a good team here but it's just not with Russ and maybe not Vogel. The bright spots have been the young guys who can switch everything and are big (or just an uber athlete like Monk). What these guy will do is fight on defense, rotate, and switch. So off the bat a Lebron/AD/Reaves/Monk/THT/Stanley as your core from what we've seen this season will work! Throw in some Dwight, and limited minutes to Melo and Bradley and that fixes some holes against certain teams.

    tl;dr where the hell is this version of Russ (old, can't finish and defend) is going to fit except off the bench?

    I stuck around for nothing after the game. Did Russ show up to talk? Am guessing not, plus wouldn't have wanted to see the questions trying to blow up controversy in Lakers land once again after such a brief hiatus. If by chance he did, how did that go?

    Nope. Left the game early and left the locker room without speaking to the media

    No, but the media pressured Vogel and LeBron.

    One thing we have to account for is that we have a lot of people (cof cof haters) who want us to fail and they would blow the Russ benched story out of proportion.
    Worth the risk lol

    It’s pretty bad when Dennis Schroder is definitely a better fit for this team at point guard than Westbrook.

    I had the thought that even if you dont factor in Schroder, this team’s current holes is because of everything we traded for Westbrook.

    Kuz: younger player who can start, defend, play off ball and guard 4s and 3s.
    KCP: starting caliber 3 and D shooting guard
    Harrell: the spark off the bench.

    Schroder is way better than Westbrook. Better on Offense and defense and can make free-throws. We were 21-6 last year until AD got hurt.

    Schroder is not better than Westbrook. That’s selective memory at best. He did nothing for us when it mattered. We dodged a bullet there.

    I think he's better especially when you factor in salary and what we lost. Westbrook gets his numbers by sheer volume. He's a stupid defender and woefully inefficient.

    Schroder = 54.3% TS , BPM -1.2, VORP 0.4

    Westbrook = 50.2 %TS , BPM -1.4, VORP 0.2

    They shared the same problem while on the Lakers: inability to accept lesser roles
    (agree on Shroder though: at least he was young. I'm biased I thought it was a good move by Rob to get him but his shooting totally regressed)

    Russ is essentially a less efficient, reckless Dennis Schroder with a with a green light to do whatever he wants with no repercussions until last night.

    C'mon, f*** Dennis. Damn, selective memory is incredible. He was awful, terrible fit to the roster and terrible fit in the locker room. This narrative doesn't make sense

    DS wasn't the best fit either (and a locker room cancer it seems like) but i don't recall him being such a momentum killer like westbrook is
