They are just rumors. Don't worry. We're going to keep our beloved babies that we drafted. Don't be surprised, though, if they're traded in any future scenarios.

Kyler also suggests that basically all we've heard so far is pouring out of Cousins' camp and that's why it's all so anti-Karl.

Ha! This will be ramped up closer to the season. Karl and Cousins are done. If it Cousins doesn't come here, he'll end up somewhere else. He's as good as gone.

The fact that cousins camp is pulling all these shenanigans and throwing out the ol Lakers name means that cousins wants to play for us. So let's just wait it out till there's a big problem with him and karl, then steal him during the trade deadline for peanuts while keeping our new young core.

Marc Stein on Sports Center basically said:

Kings are saying they will not trade Cousins. If the Lakers want Cousins they need to first convince the Kings to trade him. But if the Kings do trade Cousins, the Lakers #2 pick and Randle are not enough in their eyes. They would want more and would want a 3rd team involved to give the Kings a veteran star player.

Damn didn't know the Kings had a prime Shaq on their hands. Good luck with that Sacto.

Excellent news, Sacto overvaluing Cousins basically means the trade isn't happening.

In all seriousness, I like Cousins, but the Randle + #2 stuff is silly. Most trades involving top talent yields one prime asset, and a couple of secondary assets in return. Love, Howard, Melo, Deron, etc. You could argue that Cousins has additional value because he's locked into a team friendly deal, but his very public discontent and fractured relationship with Karl detracts from his value. The Kings are faced with dealing him, or dealing with something that's reportedly irreparable.

Whether it's the Lakers or someone else, I don't see them getting two prime assets for him.

I know. Okafor and Randle isn't enough for a top 3 center that happens to be a malcontent with questionable character issues? I mean, if Cousins was an upstanding citizen you'd still have consider Okafor and Randle as a decent haul.

Phew, thank God. The rumored trade was just stupidly impossible without somebody getting screwed. I like the cards we have. Our future looks really bright. No need to make any trade IMO, especially for someone with questionable character.

why would I want a guy named after nose candy to be next in a long line of Legendary Championship Iconic Centers when we're about to get one in the draft that is a proven winner and champion?

The last time the Lakers traded for a disgruntled Center we saw how that worked out. I believe Cousins will wear out his welcome and fan support much like Howard did......and just HELL NO to Randle and the #2

Nailed it. The obvious is that Cousins is talented, but he's out the door. So why would we rush to give up assets?

I mean hell they'd be LUCKY to get the #2 OR Randle out of us let alone both. What I read is that the Kings don't WANT those pieces if they move Cousins, not that they're not valuable enough but the end result is the same: to get the deal they want they need extreme assets.

Well guess what Vlade? He's leaving whether you like it or not! We're not going to give you stuff for a guy who is already out the door. Especially when the kid we have a shot at taking might be as good as Boogie in a couple years.

Boogie is forcing his way out and we don't have to be a part of that. We can build our own thing over here and if he wants to come here, let him come, but we've already got a good thing going. No need to end it for a malcontent.

...and he has three years left on his deal

So, even if he wants to go, the reality is he'll have to impact his reputation negatively (more than now?) in order to push his way out. Probably not the smartest thing to do.

LMAO!! The Kings can go pound sand. [IMG] Enjoy your radioactive locker room now, Clowns. Stupid for firing Malone in the first place, the one guy who Cousins liked and was getting with the program (for).
