Nice having a guy out there who wasn't a mouse in the house. Nice thing with Johnson he's got nice lateral quickness to go along with height and decent weight as well.

Some of these defense first types like Bowen took awhile to get going. If Johnson can shoot 40% from open corner 3's, he should be able to make nice turnaround to his career

Even if he can shoot 35% he is valuable for 20-25 mins a game just slowing down a premier wing.

I’m looking forward to seeing what Vogel can do with him defensively.

The big knock on him is how much of a negative he is offensively. My thoughts is that he's spent most of his time on teams that aren't that good, so the spacing hasn't been there for him. Playing next to multiple stars should open up his looks offensively. Maybe Handy can help him out, too.

i honestly don't care if he never makes a shot. he's a big, competent defender. teams don't guard our shooters anyway, so we never get much spacing. might as well get a stop here and there.

He's a keeper. Lakers need someone to guard Booker, Murray, Mitchell, Harden etc.. Keep them from going nuts on our defense. Make him into our Bowen, only shoot the corner 3 and play defense.

I think he is what this team has been missing. Plays tough defense. We should def sign him. If he can develop a decent catch and shoot % and attack the rim every
blue moon along with his defense, he could really become an important player.

We also need to sign Daniel House and James Ennis if they aren't signed to another 10-day. Like others have said, you can never have too many wings. I would cut Baze and DJ and not re-sign Jemerrio Jones

Agreed unless we have plans to include those two as trade filler.

Vogel is probably licking his chops ready to implement him into his system.

Liked what I saw. Wasn't nearly as impressive as the D on Harden, because Houston doesn't have a marquee guy for him to guard so that aspect didn't jump out. But effort, energy, and hustle remained consistent.

Had the worst +/- on the team, which I think is incredibly misleading. Looked surprisingly good facilitating. His attacks were nice. 3 ball was not there, but the shots weren't that bad. Bad bounce here and there. Form and mechanics are fine. Handy and Penberthy should be able to help him out.

He played well. Good defense, fought for boards, and was opportunistic on offense.

I know he didn't work out in Detroit but that could be attributed to not loving up to expectations as a lottery pick. He looks like a prototypical GS forward lol

He can’t hit an open three to save his life, but everything else is really good, so I hope he gets a contract with us.

Stanley is one of the three most dominant high school players i’ve seen in person over many years, the other two being John Williams at Crenshaw and Sidney Wicks at L.A. Hamilton. Led Mater Dei to four state championships, head and shoulders better than all the competition he faced. He really looked like a slightly smaller version of LBJ. A man among boys. While he hasn’t quite panned out the way many thought he would, he’s to be given a lot of credit for being a highly intelligent player and playing within himself. I really hope he finds a permanent (such as it is) place on this roster.
