I am attached ROFY, the impossible became possible and now this? Just me I guess. Okafor and Randle scream "star" and alpha dog leaders / winners. Cost controlled next 4-5 years. Clarkson I wouldn't have as much problem with though I love what we're building.

So if Randle and or Okafor would be involved any potential deal for Durant, Westbrook, or any other superstar, you wouldn't be interested?

I have Lakers friends who hate Vlade. I don't understand. He's as much a Laker as guys like Fox and Harper.

More importantly, his two greatest contributions to the Lakers

    1. Kobe's trade bait.
    2. His magical assist to Horry in Game 4.

Durant's skinny with a bum foot. [IMG] [IMG] And Westbrook is always at risk of serious injury. Weak I know. Something about Randle we need to see him play, and something about the uniqueness and dominance of Okafor, same thing. Besides would screw up our Summer League team. Do you think Boogie would play summer league? [IMG]

You're a smart guy. If we got a star and it involved the loss of 1 or more of our young guys, I think you'd okay.

Hey I gave you Clarkson. They can have Vander Blue too. OK OK, Jabari Brown as well. Do it Mitch.

I'm trying not to but I would honestly prefer Okafor and Randle to most of the ideas being thrown out there. I'm just not interested in trading the number two pick. I'm also not sold on Boogie being the guy who can lead us to the promised land. The Kings haven't sniffed the playoffs with him. I trust Mitch and I think we will pass on this.

Honestly for me it would take one of those guys for me to be okay with this. I'd rather keep the pick and take our chances going after Love, Aldridge, etc.

Like I said I'm just not sold Cousins can lead us back to prominence

He wouldn't be the guy leading us. This is where the beauty of signing someone like Cousins comes into play, and I use it as my litmus test. Can a player who's making 3rd option money being the 3rd best player on your team? Cousins makes 3rd option money, and I think he can be the 3rd best player on your team. Imagine adding Durant and Conley the following season to pair with Cousins?

    Conley/C.J. Watson
    ?/J. Brown
    Durant/Young
    Randle/Ryan Kelly
    DeMarcus Cousins/T. Black

    Just speculating.

I am for anything that gets us Durant. But I think Okafor or even Russell could be just as appealing when trying to get him here

Gotcha. It's an extreme example. Point is we're usually built around transcendent talent, 'stars', and role players. Our GM's have always done a great job of finding the right pieces that 'fit' seamlessly.

I think Free Agents would want to with Okafor, but I think Cousins is more appealing right now unless Jah has a fantastic 1st year which is quite possible. Russell would need to have a first year like Lillard for Free Agents to want to play with him. Again possible with Russell but not likely. It's more possible with Jah...

If we can manage to trade for Cousin and sign LMA that's not a bad start to rebuild !!

    I don't want Cousins.

Talented head case. We will have a talented rookie in a few days with no big attitude problems, and we will have kept our two second year studs at the same time.

I want no part of the trade if we have to give up Randle. I am really hesitant for Clarkson too. I just like the idea of having Okafor, Randle, and Clarkson as a young cheap core over Cousins.

This was a tid bit from Eric Pincus' article looking at Lakers going after Wade and Cousins. I mean, if you get Cousins AND the #6 pick, that's hard to turn down. Tough decision for sure.
