in fairness, memphis has oddly played some of its best ball without morant. dallas hasn't. though they have won two straight. hopefully, our stars won't coast. lol.

AD showed a little rust at times but overall strong game and great to have home back.

I thought he looked really bad on offense for long stretches. He's back to not looking right again

I felt he was passive AD tonight- settled for way too many long jumpers.
His defensive spark wasn’t there either.
I don’t know if he’s happy with just one Ring, but there’s too many nights in which it sure seems like it.
If this team is going to make it through these next short handed games, we will need Agressive AD on both ends.

i missed what must have been a bad first half from him. in the second they didn't look for him enough around the paint. you could tell they recognized it because they started at least one OT with him getting involved via pick and roll.

he made some good passes that didn't lead to assists, too.

Is Giannis officially a better shooter than AD? Cause wow

AD went 3-8 outside the paint last night. not great, not awful.

his issue was going 5-10 inside the paint. i saw a couple roll out on him that would have made the box score look nicer.

he's fading on this threes; you'd figure handy would be on that. he's already not a great shooter from out there--don't make it harder.

Frank acknowledged they have to do a better job of attacking doubles particularly with AD.

It's a weakness in AD's game and the team needs better counter strategies.

Figure that out and we'll be more dynamic going forward.

I think it was just rust more than anything. He’s missed a couple games and been out for nearly a week.

That last play where he doubles Brunson who wasn't going nowhere and had Lebron on him, to leave Powell a wide open 3 was blatantly horrible. They were down 3 and Brunson was under the rim.
Cannot happen, specially when we consider him the best defensive guy of the team, if not the league. Could have cost us the game

Whatever it is he just doesn't look right. He was a such a dominant player in the bubble year. The bubble run may have been a fluky good performance but he was awesome in the regular reason.

Hard to tell how much of this spacing issues, conditioning, injury burden, playing the C more full time. I don't know but if I was the Lakers I would take a hard look at how they can get him better

I know the narrative is that Memphis sucks without Ja but it’s not true.

He gets stripped way too easily. Part of it, is he still can’t handle double teams well. He had I think 6 turnovers yesterday. He hasn’t been stepping up like a player of his caliber should lately.

Yes. Most of the guys still don’t move enough when AD gets doubled.

There’s a few guys I would be okay with losing Both THT and Reaves for in a trade and Brooks is one of them. I’m not saying there’s any reason for Memphis to deal him- I just think he has real Mamba mentality in his game.

He was getting doubled every time he caught the ball and got called for some ticky tack fouls. This further diminished his aggression.

His first half was awful and he was tired by the 3rd Q. If we're not 3 players down, I don't think he plays in this one. Superstars get doubled and deal with it. It took him out of the first half entirely...4 points before the half.

We need him 100% for the playoffs. Whatever he has to do to get there, he needs to do.
