    The more I think about this, the more it seems like some kind of weird a*** timing...

    1. The Lakers keep everything close to the vest. Why let something like this leak NOW 3.5 days before the draft?
    2. Why would the Lakers trade down to #6 when they tested four guys that wouldn't be there and 75 guys that won't be worth it? Mitch is too smart for that.


    This seems like a weird story to print at this moment. There's something fishy about it. I don't know who this came from, but I can't imagine it was the Lakers FO. They're too good to let something like this leak without their desire to let that happen.

    trading the #2 pick would be so stupid. unless mitch pulls a pau 2.0 and only gives up something like randle, young, and sacre and somehow manages to keep the #2 but that's a pipe dream

    at this point i really just hope they keep the pick and take okafor

    The article I read on ESPN said Randle AND #2.

    Mitch and/or Jimmy Boy does that and I fly to LA and do both of them myself.

    It says and/or, it's a guess based on the assets the Lakers have. Stein doesn't know who would be going where, he's speculating.

    If the trade is the number 2 pick for cousins (plus fillers) you have to do it. Okafors ceiling isn't even as high as what cousins did last year. 24pts 12.7reb 1.7 blocks

    I'm not saying Cousins sucks, because he doesn't, but it's easy to fill up a box score on a terrible team. Look at Love in Minny compared to Cleveland. Look at Kobe (35 ppg) next to Smush, Luke, Kwame.... If Cousins comes to LA, he will not duplicate those numbers.

    IF we got Boogie + Super Mario for either Randle or Okafor then yeah. Instant playoff team once they sign a solid FA. Plus Boogie's contract is amazing good for the next few years.

    No way Vlade agrees to that. And NO WAY Mitch trades both Randle and Okafor. No.
