They put him in front of the media, he must be returning soon. I don't think they'd do that if he's more than a couple weeks out.
I have to wonder what a unit of LBJ, AD, Ariza, Bradley and Russ will look like in playoff mode, locked in on D. Or sub in Howard while AD sits and/or bringing in Kendrick Nunn or THT for spells while Russ sits. I really think we can get our D back to being formidable.
^^^ if they sub in Reaves for the midget who won’t be here with his non guaranteed contract, would have real potential.
Some positive notes concerning Ariza coming back. He’s cleared for non contact drills and he participated at practice. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.si...te-trevor-ariza-ankle-surgery-return-timeline
He’s participating in practice, needs to get his legs under him. https://www.google.com/amp/s/lakers...step-in-returning-from-injury-for-lakers/amp/
Wonder if it still hurts much? Would be awesome if pretty much all discomfort was gone from procedure and original problem, and only has to strengthen it now as reported and get into game shape.
Guessing we're a week away-ish if he's out there practicing. Tired of seeing every wing in the NBA destroy us. I'm not expecting prime Pip defensively, but ANYTHING Trevor has left on that end will be the best perimeter defense on the entire roster.
I don’t put that much in. I’m just excited to see him healing up and on the verge of returning. I still think it will take him a while to get all the way back. But at least there’s progress.
We're not really putting so much in the "Ariza basket" - it' just that he is going to be able to contribute, and whatever he can bring is a plus, since he is the only tall and long wing who can sort of defend and sort of shoot.
I think he'll get some PT before he's in shape ala AR. I don't think the hammy is 100% which is why he's out of the rotation but getting spot minutes here and there. That way we can ramp him up and not just throw him in the starting lineup where he belongs and AB does not... neither does THT. We can move at least one of those to the bench soon hopefully.
No pain after his first practice back. https://www.google.com/amp/s/lakers...full-scrimmage-of-ankle-rehab/2021/12/07/amp/
Please get healthy Trevor...We desperately need a 36 year old role player to take this borderline lottery team and make it a championship contender...
