His defensive effort, sparked the five on the floor to turn the tide. See what happens when you just play defense!?!?
I wish they would start games with some kind, any kind of defensive intensity.

I don’t know why they’ve got DJ over him in the rotation

He should be our starting center. My Karnak talents had it right … they had it wrong. The guy is in great shape and a hell of a lot better all around than DJ. With more playing time he likely get into an even better rhythm.

seems to be implying that dj hasn't picked up the schemes (or just has opted not to execute them).

still mad we pissed off marc. would have been such a great fit on this team. marc/dwight as the centers just allows for so much flexibility.

He still hasn't explained what he thinks he's getting out of starting Jordan in the first place. I'd love to hear that explanation.

Think he likes Dwight’s energy off the bench against second unit big men

I was debating on where to put my thoughts on the DJ/D12 starter discussion because there's 3 or so topics discussing it.

Frank has repeatedly said he likes Dwight's energy off the bench. That's been the case since his last stint here.

Dwight is a volatile gamble. He might give you a double double or he might foul out in 5 minutes and his emotions might make him a liability on the court. Which is GREAT when you're a spark off the bench, just like Monk. But it can f*** you if he's your starter. He can throw off the rotations for the entire night. You can't script for Dwight. You know what you're getting from DJ. Say Vogel goes with the 1 C lineup, DNPs DJ for the night, Dwight gets 3 fouls in the opening 90 seconds and continues that foul rate for the night, you're stuck with AD at C the rest of the night and AD won't be happy about that.

I simply don't envision scenarios where D12 or Monk are starters on this team. Vogel has hammered home spark and bench energy all year regarding them. Starting the second half as a change of pace or another look, I think that could very well continue. But if we start a C, I think DJ gets that's 5-6 minute run, even if that's his only PT that game.

Maybe Dwight could be less volatile if Frank dangled the starting C spot as incentive? :p And if DJ has a problem coming off the bench, more than he normally comes on the bench, give Jay Huff a try? How much of a skinny white center stiff could he be .... with the flexing and primal screams he has down in college footage after plays in the paint?

    Is Dwight a unicorn?

Who else in the history of the world has had back surgery and had it turn out well?

I'm not sure, really. Usually it ends their career.

Typical Marc hater answer that wasn’t true, especially with his knowledge and experience of where to be and angles and quick hands. Lost a step or two … sure but not to the haters’ always exaggerated takes on it.

Still the possibility Warriors will bring him in at the deadline.

To be fair to the guys, I think Vogel prefers to get back on D and doesn't want them to to crash the boards hard. It's seems to be his MO, along with holding the ball until deep in the shot clock. these things help limit fast breaks and cuts down on total possessions.

    Come on.
Come on, that’s just lazy labeling someone a “hater” if they point out something about a player you like. By any standard set, he was sloooooooow and couldn’t do anything on switches. However, he did make some very good passes.

It was discussed ad nauseam here last spring, but all of the advanced stats showed we were a better defensive team with Marc on the court. People tried to argue the stats, but even with the injuries to AD and Lebron, we were a top defense. If I recall correctly, we didn’t really start sliding on that end until he himself got hurt. Marc was slow, but he used his high IQ to anchor a nice defensive unit.
