Makes some impossible shots to be honest. Monk doesn't give you any D...but he does give you his offense consistently. I rather have that than some "supposed" defenders that don't defend and can't do anything on offense.
we invoke "consistency" in strange ways around here. feel like the game log below looks like someone who would have caught hell last year:
I love this kid’s game. He’s a very underrated ball handler and passer too. Just improve your defense a little bit more…
wtf was that shot selection down the stretch from him. not why we lost, but uh...you just missed the corner fallaway by 4ft. then you...miss a 2nd one by 4 feet.
He's a minimum guy - can't expect too much from him at this point. Just mad that we spent the MLE on Nunn and we probably won't ever see him suit up for us...smh
i suppose. he's really frustrating. so much talent. even makes some great passes off the dribble here and there. but just a very low iq player overall.
I hear you - frustrating to watch but there's a reason he was available for the amount we got him at.
He got off to a great start and then decided to shoot fadeaway corner 3s in front of the z Knicks bench... repeatedly. That's just dumb.
He’s fun in small in doses as a bench scorer. But that’s it. Can’t rely on him for significant minutes unless he’s red hot. He and Ellington are almost redundant too. But I like Monk more. He’s not great from three but he’s an all around better scorer and younger with athleticism.
The carry call was stupid as hell but otherwise was pretty good. Don't know why sometimes he's just looks so lost on D and other times like today he seemed passable with good rotations.
Was just coming to ask if he’s making any headway with man D? He’s quick and “seems” to be trying hard?
Huge game out of Monk! 6 3s, including the half court'er to end the half. 50% shooting. Actively trying on D. Was a better PG than THT by a long shot and setup 3-4 really nice plays.
