I recall there was at least "somebody". Step up. Own it. Take your verbal lashing with hindsight. :D ;)

I was on different boards then. I’m glad you guys here were smart enough to see that THT was a keeper.

I don’t remember seeing him attempt one. He should get with Rondo to learn the proper technique. I’m guessing he spent most of his time in the summer working in his jumper and handle.

Regarding the Lowry trade: if DS was going to accept the our extension offer and the alternative was to be stuck with him for 4 years AND we had no means of getting a star in the off-season, then I would have done it. Luckily DS is dumb and Bron the GM has some juice still.

I'm getting the impression that Tucker and Russ play well together. Sure looks that way to me, what am I missing here?

Seems to me (as a dunce with Xs and Os) that when LeBron comes back, adding a 3rd indomitable force capable of driving to the rack with any reasonable amount of daylight, “manufactured” or otherwise just happening …. that there ought to be ways to manufacture more of those opportunities from any of them on any possessions same as they try to manufacture good shot opportunities. What teams have 3 players like that in their lineup at the same time? What a unique advantage to try to exploit.

It's the fit with Lebron: you need shooting around him. Instead our two best perimeter players both want to attack the basket.
Ironically it maybe Lebron who is best suited to play off the ball of either 3 but then again he's still way better then both with the ball in his hands

I've written before but we caught glimpses of this last year when AD was out but the Lakers were playing well before the Lebron ankle injury - Vogel was running 3 guys who could dribble and set the offense on the floor at all times between DS/Lebron/AC/THT. It allows you to transition quickly between defense to offense and put a lot of early pressure on the defense.

Not sure with Russ's shooting how this would look in the halfcourt but the multiple ballhandler look from last year was impressive for the short period of time the Lakers were able to do it

need to find ways to make lebron the guy that makes the quick decision as the defense scrambles. AD, russ, and THT can all get the defense moving in different ways, but one of the issues has been that when they give up the ball, the next guy that gets it isn't always able to quickly make the defense pay for collapsing.

Yup. Smart teams can just pack the paint against us. That neutralizes both AD and Russ. LeBron usually finds a way to bully ball his way through this.

This. Teams are packing the paint which affects Ludabrow's ability to post up, and he's getting hard doubled before he even crosses the 3 point line. This is happening due to roster construction. We did the same thing to Houston in the playoffs, which completely bogged down their offense.

I don't understand how people in the front office didn't see this coming.

And you get Lebron back and this looks prescient. Three guys who attack the rim and redundant skillets. You need guys like KCP who can operate without the ball and make jumpshots

Might as well have traded THT as with Westbrook around where is he going to get his touches and have the spacing to make him valuable

Oh, it's much harder to offload an undesirable 47 million contract than just waving your hand.

it’s happened twice already with him; think we can do it with him as an expiring. Some lotto teams’ overpaid role players look appetizing right now, tbh.

THT can't start. He won't have the ball in his hands enough to be effective with Lebron and Westbrook.

In general I'm finding the rotations a bit frustrating - two of Westbrook, Lebron and THT should be playing at all times. We should be running PnR's with those 3 and getting these guys into the paint going at the rim with pace and kicking out to shooters if that's taken away.

Instead we play line-ups without any of them.
