Id say he's already happy. He's accomplished more than Kobe as the leader of his own team. His teams go from the finals to the lottery in his absence and vice versa when he arrives. Kobe's lakers saw the lottery under his "reign" more than the Lakers entire history prior...

Perfect. What Lakersball has been lacking that Clublakers always had one or more of. A Kobe troll.

It is looking like their year. It ain't looking like ours! Gotta say, I know I was giving us 20 games to get it together but from what I have seen, not sure we have enough weapons to actually turn into a ring chaser this year.

it depends on who's healthy at the end, like always. if the warriors add klay and he looks like himself, the rest of the west is playing for 2nd, including us. i have questions about thompson returning at full capacity and about curry making it through a full season playing the way he has been early, though.

i also think kyrie will be playing by the end of the year, and the nets will handle any EC team at that point.

we've got a puncher's chance if we're healthy going into the playoffs, though, early struggles be damned. i'd prefer to finish in the top 4, though.

If we manage to win a ring, it will be the biggest jump from beginning to end that we have ever made as a team. Really beginning to lose my belief. We are playing so monumentally bad at times that I just don't see the turnaround that big ever happening.

Nor do I. If Lebron was 7 years younger, I wouldn't be worried because this type of thing has happened before. But he won't be able to hoist this team on his back at his age. That's not to say he's not a top 5 player, but he isn't the Lebron he was 7 years ago. 7 years ago, he was the best in the league, and he was so much better you could have made an argument that you'd take him alone over both the 2nd and 3rd best players on your team.

i think he's capable in spurts. i don't think he's much different than two years ago, for instance. and we won then.

He was still younger and also had a better supporting cast. Last season, we also had a good team, but we were screwed over by injuries. So far this season, we're being screwed over by injuries again and on top of that the parts don't fit as well as the last two teams.

i'm still under the impression (perhaps delusion) that we really haven't seen what this group is capable of. yes, it's looked quite bad, but i don't think any team dealing with similar issues has done much better, tbh. milwaukee is 6-8 and hasn't been missing a lebron. philly has the same record as us. bkn's only a little better so far. clippers, too. just not seeing a whole of great examples of teams overcoming the adversity that we seem to be expecting the lakers to overcome.

When was the last time the 5-6 best teams in the league looked so weak 15 games in ?

No one cares about regular season anymore.

I actually thought about a solution for that and it might be crazy:
playoff series with 5 games at home

These guys are looking good. They don't even have Wiseman or Thompson playing.

When those two get back and integrated, that is going to be one tough team.

Only more injuries will take them down.

We do not have nearly as potent an offense and we do NOT have good enough outside defense to stop these guys. Don't see it happening at this point.

I think they are beatable, it just takes one bad shooting night for them (or a very average game from Curry like he has plenty of in his playoff history) and they can be taken down. That said if Klay comes back and is close to his old self it’s going to be a big ask. The good thing, for me at least, is that the Warriors minus Durant are a likable enough team. When playing them I don’t like them, but when it’s not us they’re fun, a nice mix of vets and younger players that they’ve developed that are impressive. I’m honestly jealous of all the players of the same type they have that can go off on you, this like very athletic, medium height, long limbed type of player that can all hit threes and also dunk on you. Poole and Toscano-Anderson being the main ones. So, if we lose and the Warriors go further I’m alright with it, anyone but Harden or the C Bags.

yeah, i love what they've built in gs around curry. great culture that starts with a great person as your star.

i'll repeat that i think they're beatable because i don't think curry will be at full strength in june. and that changes things a lot. but if they can get fully healthy at the right time, they're my cofavorites with a full bkn squad. our fully healthy squad would be just after that, imo.
