I think he may already be better than Zo. He shoots better, has the same passing ability, yet he’s way more confident and aggressive, goes to the hoop a lot, where Lonzo avoids it. Zo might be better at defense, I haven’t seen enough of Melo to say yet, but everything else he looks better or at least as good.

That's amazing Weezy. Sheesh Melo is far more confident and aggressive and definitely has the talent and skill. Very curious to see how he develops and he looks like a far more promising prospect than Lonzo.

It sucks for Lonzo hes playing in NOLA under SVG. He's playing pretty much the 2 guard next to Erick Bledsoe. But no excuses man this is his 4th year and its his contract year hes going to have to step up. His brother is doing all this coming off the bench behind Terry Rozier.

Lonzo's biggest enemy is his head and lack of confidence...Lavar was very tough on him but all the early hype didn't help his game

This is a Guard- friendly league and his skill and talent should pan out but if he's not aggressive and confident he might find himself out of the league. Teams want consistency and I don't know what you can count on from Lonzo. Is there anything you can rely on from him?

LaVar constantly putting targets on his back with his big mouth couldn’t have helped.

LaMelo has also has a very strong left. I really underestimated him seeing how he played in HS, but in hindsight thats silly because he was so young then. Looks promising.

Looks like Lonzo ducks playing the Lakers like he ducked playing Fox. ;)

Or he’s just in mid season form missing games with leg injuries. His dumb coaches can always fix this by playing him 45 minutes like he needs to be “peak Lonzo” according to Lavar.

I was especially happy that Caruso and Kuzma had great games and showed him their value to a championship squad. Scoreboard they’re still on the Lakers doing really well.

also shooting 78% from the FT line. only 5apg (not jason kidd), but only 2 TOpg, too.

weirdly, his advanced stats are at their lowest point, generally speaking. it appears he's fallen off defensively a bit, which to me was a big selling point. his rebounding is down in all ways we can count, too.

so, glad he's over his mental shooting block, but he's basically about the same player he was in his rookie year, generally speaking. good luck with contract negotiations, NO.

Anyone else think there will never be a better chance for at least 2/3 of the “family dream” to play together in the NBA than starting next season with Lonzo and Melo in Charlotte? Maybe they keep working on Gelo’s game and even get him brought in for anther G-league tryout with their affiliate if Lonzo gives them a great team friendly deal to come to the Hornets?

This is sooo close to doable and with Lonzo having stepped his game up maybe even attractive basketball and gate wise for the Hornets? Sooo close that LaVar can taste it?

Lonzo is at peace with knowing he's not a franchise cornerstone all star like Lavar sold him to be. He is an extremely valuable and productive role player. He's thriving in Chicago

Lonzo is a role player. Lavar hyped him so much, that he was never going to make Laker fans happy who wanted a franchise player.

As it turns out, he is a role player. A solid role player and a good allround player. But that wasn't going to cut it for a #2 Pick on the Lakers.

he was billed as prime jason kidd, but really, his max is later career jason kidd. no shame in it. still better than most high lotto picks, tbh. just not a franchise player at all.

but i guess he makes less than duncan robinson and mikal bridges, who are also role players, right?

LOL. Reminds of of Brian Cook.

Ball is one of those guys that shoots threes but airballs layups because he is so afraid of contact (and his ability to make FTs).

Its shocking how you airball those shots, mostly wide open from midrange LOL.

With the Lakers defense, it isn't that hard to have a career night.

Last night Johnson (SA) had a career night tonight it was Lonzo. When you are defended by Westbrook or Rondo, it ain't that hard to be honest. Also I see shocking defensive breakdowns with perimeter players ending up getting wide open layups in the paint. Not to talk about the billion turnovers that turn into fast break layup drills.
