Well Starting him definitely paid off. Kid looked great and impacted the game on both ends. Team instantly looks better and gave 48 minutes of effort. liked what I saw a lot today.
Thank goodness he’s back, WB almost choked this game away but he saved it. We missed someone who could get to the rim so easily big time.
He played well in his first action of the season. I think once he gets a month under his belt, folks are going to understand why keeping him was a priority.
Also showed himself to be a better decision maker down the stretch than Russ (which I suppose isn’t tough these days).
He figured out to slow down a little bit staying in control and he can still make highlight plays. Once he gets his rhythm going and better now controls his game I think he’ll be able to pretty soon start turning on the jets with his moves. When he has good angles to them being successful plays. Then look the hell out. He doesn’t need to be pedal to the metal and always on the edge of control with his game.
Once we have: Nunn, THT, and LBJ; we'll really have enough ball handling to limit Russ and his touches out there when the game matters. As I've said, using Russ as a screener or cutter in crunch time will be so much more advantageous - that's where he can thrive, IMO.
A supercharged Bruce Brown is what I've been hoping for on offense for him. Center on offense combo screen man in half court plus extra ball handler to speed the game up
I guess Johnny Blaze is now coming off the bench. We just need Nunn now in order to limit Westbrook's turnovers and questionable shooting and we're back!
Would like to see Monk playing with THT and Lebron. Both of them can set up Monk and cover up for his offensive and defensive issues while Monk shooting and athleticism would open the floor up for Lebron and THT getting to the rim
Love to see him back. He didn’t look too rusty to me. So good to see guys give effort on the defensive end and actually stay close to their defensive assignment instead of camping out in the paint to pad your rebounding stats.
