Not a good game for Monk. Went 0-6 and played little to no defense. Guys got work to do if he wants to stay in the rotation when we are healthy.

I love Monk’s fit offensively but he might be unplayable on a Vogel team with defense this bad.

Monk will help save or win some games this year. He’s that capable of heating up. But boy does his D stink. He will have to improve there to get burn with Vogel.

I read that Vogel expects Ellington to be ready to go Tuesday. Malik needs to tighten up on his D if his shot isn't falling. I expect it to take a couple of games for Ellington to ramp up to game speed. Monk still has a window to bounce back.

I was impressed with his start. Looked to be a playmaker and got two assists of the rip. Thought that might be his plan since his offense has been a little off. Nope. It was all downhill after that and at a breakneck pace.

I don't know if he's playing scared, looking behind him at the 6 other guards waiting to take all his minutes, but damn... get it together

I am rooting for him, but if he can't deliver... Nunn will. We'll have to re-evaluate how many guards we really need in a couple of months.

Just thinking about this; the redundancy.

Idk. I get a feeling Monk will be out the rotation soon.

Yeah this hasn't been a fun defense overhaul for Frank with all the new faces and all the guys out so it's that much harder. He's not going to suffer guys that just suck on D.

If he’s not scoring, it can get ugly quickly.

I think we will have to trade one of our guards later in the year and it’s most likely going to be Monk because of his lack of D.

Monk and Reaves knew each other when they were young and played against each other quite a lot. Isn’t it funny how Monk gets scouted by Kentucky and goes in the first round as a one and done. While Reaves does 4 years at two different college programs and technically doesn’t get drafted.

Monk has great athleticism and a good shot on him, so I get that he has the building blocks to be successful. But this is further proof why the college system doesn’t set players up for success. Reaves has far better IQ and habits than Monk and that’s somewhat down to his college tenor.

or proof that it does, but you have to actually be in it for more than a year?

Two sides of the same coin. The problem is, the longer your in college, the more benefit you get from it. However, the majority of NBA players spend only 1 year there. So that’s kinda alluding to why I don’t feel it works.

So, that microwave got repaired today?

Great game by Monk, loving his fearlessness with attacking and scoring.

What a night. He hit some amazing shots and matched Herro’s production well. Great game.

The microwave is a Heat killer. Career high of 36v also happened to be against the Heat.

He and Westbrook have very good chemistry together. Monk has solid one on one scoring ability. He's making a strong case to start next to Westbrook in the backcourt.

I guess we've seen the end of 13-minute games for Monk. You got to reward that kind of production on the floor at least for a while.
