If Frank had the juice and latitude to run this team as he saw fit with who starts and minutes and crunch time who plays and who doesn’t …. Russ would be a really worthwhile asset. Better than what Schroder would have been under the same “ideal” scenario.

After watching and posting Reaves’s October NBA Lakers highlights in his thread, I’ll say right now what would be a big upgrade to what we’re doing without politics involved. Start Reaves now at the 2 guard and tell Russ to look for him when he’s open same as he looks for the big 2 and Melo. Those guys first of course! But f****** look for him to shoot the long ball rather than himself from out there. Won’t happen. Then again maybe later in the year. Could run THT at the 3 if he is shooting better and everything else has improved with all the work he’s been doing. Austin right now is a better all around basketball player than what we saw last year from THT, and Bradley and Ellington and “probably” Nunn too with his size and surprising strength to be able to switch and fairly hold his own against larger players.

I’m still completely on board with the Westbrook trade and I’m glad he’s here. Sorry but Kuz and Trez were not going to give us a better shot at a championship. The guy we are missing the most in the trade is KCP but he could be wildly inconsistent too. I like our chances much better overall with Westbrook. Also it rendered Herr Schroder unnecessary so there is that as well. So glad to see that guy gone.

Wishing injury on another person is really a bad take.

I thought he had a pretty good night until it looked like this in the final minute(s)

The J was falling, even his 3 ball was going in. For him, that was NBA Jam on fire mode. But...

He went full bad-Russ to close it out. The turnover to the corner, OKC bench, fans... where ever the hell that was to was awful. The "defense" malfunction where he left Dort and tried to blitz SGA who 1) was 18 feet from him and 2) had 3 other Lakers covering him. I don't even think prime Russ could've jumped the gap to get to him in time. And finally the hero ball 3. Even with him making 3 already, that was a bad shot. You get it to Melo. NO. MATTER. WHAT. He's the only reason we were still hanging on and was hot from deep. It would've been in traffic and a contested look but so f***ing what. Melo has shown he needs zero space to get his shot off AND Russ has never been shy about passing into a crowd.

Oh well. OKC has our number. Hopefully he learned something from the film session and I know he's beating himself up over it. Let's hope for a good showing against Portland.

I have no issues with that comment. But wishing injury on someone is terrible man. Wish him to be traded or to be benched instead.
