Was doing some reading this morning: came across some interesting quotes and one thing is for certain: Frank has these guys bought into the defensive end. Now? They could just be saying the right things, the defense that we've seen might not show any validation of what I'm saying, etc. However, from what I have read, these guys all sound like they're on the same page to improve the defense. Does that happen? I think it does. And in spite of all of us complaining about the offense, the numbers are still pretty good. . He's doing a good job so far...
Lakers need to step up defensively. Offense is solid but not great. We won't outshoot teams in the post-season. We need to be able to defend them properly.
fourth quarter actually wasn’t that bad until you benched Russ and AD Frank. Thunder immediately went on a run and never looked back.
I don't think we have a core 9-man rotation. I was actually thinking about that yesterday and our depth is ridiculous. I was guessing our rotation come playoff time and there are too many players left Lebron AD Russ The big 3 Melo Bazemore Nunn Key rotation guys Howard THT Ariza I believe they will play a lot too (Howard or DJ) That's 9 players that for sure will play consistent minutes, Ariza is a question mark but his defense and height is much needed so I believe he will play if healthy So then you have: Reaves who needs to play every game Bradley that seems to be a lock in the rotation too I can't imagine Bradley and Reaves not playing quality minutes so at the very least we have a 11-man rotation Jordan who may play depending on the matchup Monk who had a lot of hype when he signed Ellington that came to be a sharpshooter (I believe he's the first guy to be cut/have bunch of DNPs this season) And that's not counting Rondo who is expected to be a factor in the playoffs. That's 5 or 6(!!!!) guys out of the core 9. Damn, never saw a team with such depth and really don't know what will look like in May. Probably not even Vogel knows and performance will dictate rotations, that's awesome
curious to hear vogel's reaction to AD's comments. essentially, earlier problems on d have been chalked up to execution, but AD claimed we executed and just essentially got out-schemed (or maybe simply outplayed). i thankfully didn't see the game, but i wonder if people agree with that assessment, especially vogel.
That's not good Not only the misinterpretation but also AD saying we were outplayed by the worst team in the league
Lot of blame to share for a pair of games against a Thunder team that can only beat the Lakers, but the buck stops here. Have to coach better Frank and hold players accountable.
Right, but the Thunder don't have a single player on their roster close to AD's level, or supposedly Russ' level, or Melo for that matter.
Ty lue did an outstanding coaching job last year sans Lebron and Kawhii. He's as good as anyone in making adjustments over time. That being said real b******* to even hear whispers about Vogel's job. He's been dealt a s***ty hand IMO (poor offseason in terms of fit and just a ton of injuries) I don't trust Fizdale and similar to Kidd and was concerned he would be willing to backstab to get a shot at another HC job
i was more just ribbing our resident lue acolytes. i think he's a decent but not great coach, much like vogel. and no, blaming vogel for this is pretty silly, imo. here are a bunch of guys who don't play defense and a star who's a poor fit with the roster. do things. oh, and lebron will be missing half the games.
This is only partially Vogel’s fault. We’re injured so he had to play Rondo. And you don’t have a defense first coach, then fill your roster with players that almost entirely don’t or can’t play defense to save their lives. Vogel is a good coach, if he’s fired you’re going to have a hard time finding someone better at this stage.
