I'm wondering how many of those 3s he took with 2 bigs and Russ on the floor? And if there's any correlation to settling when there is limited spacing to drive because the paint is clogged?

I know we went to 3 straight LBJ/AD pick in rolls that produced a dunk, a layup, and a 3 in the fourth quarter. No other bigs on the floor? I don't remember if Russ was on the floor or not....

Either way, he looks great. He's moving well, and he looks spry. Of course we want to keep him like that for May and June.

He played 38 minutes last game. I'd like to see that number come down, but he did have 2 games off prior to that, and I hope we see that more often for him.

Great start to the season, though.

No other big on the court with Russ on for 1/2 of it. Basiclly back to the Bubble offense with Lebron head hunting with picks.
If you're going to have Melo on the court to maximize offense then on D rather go with Bradley/K9 for now and maybe THT/Ariza over Russ in that situation. Melo is your Kylo Korver and you need a ton of defense and shooting around that neither of which is Russ's strengths.

Only way to make it work would be Russ being the screener in the Bruce Brown role but we haven't seen it yet

He's still kicking father time's a**. A few really impressive assaults on the rim, and outran a kid nearly 20 years his junior in the open floor... that level of athleticism is remarkable.

Refs robbed him out of a couple of and-1 opportunities. The one right before the half was b*******. Then there was a few bad no calls in the second half. Refs took him out of it a bit.

I do want him to cutout the 3 ball until he finds his mojo out there again. It's really ugly right now.

    Nearly ended this kid's career.

And anyone else see Bron in the crowd?

Can't believe they didn't call the spin foul an AND1. That was a complete mess of a call. Cost the Lakers 3 points there as it became just a sideout with like 3 seconds left on the clock

Well another game and another 4th quarter where Lebron has to put on a show to win it

Good news: still got it when he wants to turn it up
Bad news: these are bad teams and it looks smooth as expected with more shooting/spacing. With Westbrook in, not running an PNR with him as the roll man is concerning the s*** out of me. Teams are willingly giving him the open look and selling out on protecting the rim

But Russ is adjusting well lately and taking his offense and assists much more going toward the hoop as his dominant abilities allow him to do. I don't even mind the mid range Js and Js off the backboard. Those are easy shots for him to get and he needs to hit them. Not not take them. He is laying way off on the 3s compared to earlier.

Enjoy him while he’s still playing folks, that’s all I can say, we are gonna miss the fun, and the confidence we’re hardly ever out of a game, that he brings when he retires. That’s what I vowed to do when we lost Kobe, never take an all time great for granted, just enjoy it while it lasts. Except James Harden, screw that guy.

Another game where he had some incredible highlights attacking the rim. Grade A material for ESPN. That 10-0 run he went on in the 4th was special. His entire 4th was really good.

My complaint is I don't like his strategy. I get it. He knows his body and knows what it can do and how much energy he wants to use against the Rockets in a game in November. He was pacing himself and took a nap on the court for the bulk of the game. The issue with this strategy is that it required Russ to have a MONSTER 3rd Q. If that goes sideways, Bron isn't in a position to win this in the 4th. If instead we look like we have nearly every other 3rd Q, this is a loss. And ultimately even with that big time 4th Q, Rockets still for a great look at a 3 at the buzzer. My preferred strategy is to take the game seriously early and rest your starters in the 4th.

The only thing good about that is that Russ can be criticized about many things, but we can never say he doesn't bring the energy or that he's not giving it his all. So, most of the time, he can carry in the 3rd simply because that's who he is. But then... 3-4 horrible shots early in the clock and it could just deflate anyone. It's a risky strategy which I am not going to question much as long as we're winning games. My wish is just that he plays more under control. That would simplify everything and make Bron's life a lot easier, for sure.

I agree with this. What’s the point of running around out there if you are just half a$$in it?! I used to love the teams that would demoralize the other team so they could rest the starters in the fourth. Yes, sometimes, the bench would lose the lead and the starters would have to be reinserted, but this is preferred over the style we are playing now. I’m hoping when we get THT, Nunn and Trevor back, LeBron will feel comfortable enough to go because he won’t have to play as many minutes.

Can't these take forever to heal? Thought Shaq had one of these and he was out forever.

That worrisome thought aside he did come back and play last game so couldn't have been to serious
