That is the one bummer with AD. We’ve seen that movie already. Passive AD won’t cut it. Last night he did grab a ton of boards though so there’s that. He just wasn’t aggressive about getting his shots. 16 points for AD is like sleep walking offensively.

Yeah, I’m not sure if he’s waiting until the post season to “turn it on” or if he’s happy enough with his single Chip. It’s hard to watch some of these guys when we were spoiled with Kobe for 20 great seasons of ultimate determination. I tip my hat to LeBron for bringing it just about every single minute he’s out there.

but...this is why AD wanted to come here. and why lebron jacks long threes as soon as we get a 10 point lead. they don't want to have to go for the jugular from minute 1 of each game for their team to be competitive.

i don't know how to think about it, tbh. jimmy butler comes for your a** at all times, for better or worse. maybe russ, too. kobe generally did as well. there are pluses and minuses to the mindset.

AD has shown he can be the hare, and now he's trying to be the tortoise.

i will say that if we saw a little more sustained aggression from both lebron and AD, they'd get more actual rest instead of just conserving energy whilst on the floor.

    AD 2019-2020 title season:
    PTS: 26.1
    REB: 9.3
    BLK: 2.3

    AD this season:
    PTS: 24.7
    REB: 11.4
    BLK: 2.3

Besides shooting a little less efficiently so far, he's cruising along as he did in the championship season. His shooting touch will improve as the season moves along, as it did that year.

He's not going to get motivated by playing the Rockets or Cavs at home . Same with Lebron .

There is no doubt in my mind both AD and Lebron are thinking about conserving for the playoffs. That's the reason AD said "thank you" to Rob for the acquisition of DJ.

they will focus more, take better shots and play harder just like in 2019-2020. The exception stat-wise is Lebron's assists going down a tad but it's because he takes on a bigger scoring role.

    Lebron
    Regular season 2019-2020
    25.3 pts
    7.8 reb
    10.2 asst
    .493 FG%
    34.8% 3PT%

    Playoffs 2020
    27.6 pts
    10.76 reb
    8.76 asst
    .557 FG%
    37% 3PT%
    ---------------------------
    AD
    Regular season 2019-2020
    26.1 pts
    9.3 reb
    2.3 blk
    50.3% FG%
    33% 3PT%

    Playoffs 2020
    27.7 pts
    9.7 reb
    1.43 blk
    57.1% FG%
    38.3% 3PT%

Aggressive AD back on display last night. That was a great sight to see.

I'm going to take the contrarian opinion and despite the low percentages Lakers need to run some plays to get AD corner 3's. Force feed him till he starts feeling comfortable behind the line again

With the way defenses are playing Westbrook in 1/2 court sets with LeIso or Leborn PnR, they need to get more spacing and if they don't respect either AD or Westbrook that eliminates the single best offensive weapon in the playoffs for the last 10 years.

It came and went a little too much. Not sure if that was early foul trouble or just sleep walking from the 2nd Q to early 4th. He had a dominant 1st Q and could've easily finished with 40 had he kept to that energy... or a quick 30 and some rest.

The ankle roll and then his legs bending back like Neo dodging bullets... Jesus! Please just make it through the season.

Nice display of his point guard skills.

Lastly, STOP shooting f***ing 3s! You're not good at it. 15%?!? Where his shot is right now, he is the last person on our roster I want shooting a 3.

Vogel says the other bigs are going to continue to play moving forward. Good idea IMO. I'm still not in love with Jordan, because he gets caught watching the ball too much. It's still early in the season though.

Beta though ... coulda kept the kids. ;) They're all over the map now though and we have some new ones to cheer. Plus a couple of the remaining "kids" helped us bigly to win a ring last October in AC and Kuz.

Davis numbers have been solid this season. In particular it is unacceptable for him to get less than 10 boards a game given how small the NBA teams have become and he used to get 10+ regularly in NO.

The only thing sometimes still irritating me is his body language and overall demeanor. You wanna dominate this game like you always say? Whats stopping you from eating up the opposition?

for at least 15-20mpg, it's the presence of four help defenders with a foot in the paint, tbh.

AD needs ballet or marshall arts training to get better balance. Being off balance and falling so often will lead to back and knee injuries. Would also improve his body language which as many have aaid is terrible. Terrific player, but could be so much more. I just the team to get to the point it doesn't make me mad to watch them...lol
