Russ is a first ballot Hall of Famer still in his prime. He will be fine. If you read anything about him, you would know that he is a borderline obsessive routine regime type of person. It's going to take him a minute to get his bearings with this team. New city, New teammates, adjustment to his routine. It's more to it than some may think. He looked terrible when he got to Houston, looked terrible when he got to Washington. You guys don't remember the is Westbrook finished? Talk when he first showed up in DC? Turned all that noise around emphatically too. Once he settles down mentally and gets comfortable, it's going to be a show.

    No, you weren't wrong.

Just got done listening to the Lakers Film room podcast.

Pete thinks we need to start AD at the 5.

Darius sounds like he's leaning that way or could be convinced.

    It needs to happen.

Russ can only play one way, which is fine. We brought him here to be Russ. Right now Russ is trying to adjust his game to his credit. I don't want him to change. Just be balls to the wall RW. Start AD at the five problem solved. Want to fix the bench and the defense? Put Austin in the rotation. We just do these simple things and we look better fast. Hopefully it won't take months of rotation changes to figure this out. I hate hearing this 20 game nonsense. Just fix ir now.

When will Russ let that mamba loose. He plays better when he is instinctive and aggressive and not trying to fit in with the team. Lakers need to set him up next game with early play calls to get him going. He was awful last game, though I expect him to adapt, he is known to be a slow starter.

I totally agree with the ones who are optimistic about Russell's ability to figure it out.
But, in the same time, I think that the coaching staff has a lot of work to do about the rotations in the backcourt.

Ok, we haven't Nunn, THT and Ellington, but if Bradley is phisically ok can we avoid to see a backcourt with Rondo and Westbrook on the pitch? I don't know how it can work, especially if there is also Monk or Melo on the pitch.

In my honest opinion (and I don't know a f**ck about basketball, especially in comparison with Vogel or his assistants), one between Bradley or Bazemore (and Ellington and THT when they'll return available) has to be on the pitch as a SG with Rondo or Westbrook as PG.

I was against signing Westbrick. But we will have to wait and see. Its way too early to judge.

But 0-7....not really much to be ecstatic about or encouraged right now. Wait and see approach seems appropriate.

Russ needs to play more minutes on his own, to go crazy leading the 2nd unit, and fewer minutes with LeBron. Game 1, he played 28 minutes next to LeBron, and only 6 minutes without. Of course he's going to look lost when he needs the ball in his hands, but it's in LeBron's.

A better rotation imo would be for LeBron to play 32 min, and Russ 32 min, but only 16 with LeBron and 16 without. His 16 without can still have some with AD, and would be good teams.

How are we expected to win when our starting PG shows up looking like a jive turkey?

I'll just say that the Nets lost their first game, and the Bucks got crushed by 42 today. So, it would be a good idea to give our guys, especially Russ, some time to get used to the new team.

BTW, Curry has 25 in 1 quarter against the Clips, he's going after Wilt today.

And the Clips may actually win this.
Tyronn Lue is the most underrated coach in the NBA and Reggie Jackson contract at 2 years for 22 million vs Westbrook contract worth the GDP of a small island nation makes me want to vomit.

Very good points about Russ starting slowly in Houston, as well as DC. I have been shouting many times, on a different site, that it’s going to take 15-20 games for this new group to figure it out. Some may not like it, but I think it’s our reality right now.

I agree 100% with Austin getting some run. The kid is just so steady, plays hard on D, and can shoot. Plus, he’s decent at handling the ball.

I thought the exact same thing, no reason to panic from our end. We didn’t beat golden state but their a good team this year.

Mavs (who won’t be good, but still) got their doors blown off by hawks. First week of season brings a lot of weird, most of which is forgotten soon.

    I wanted to say field.
C'mon don't be so fussy, I'm italian and I'm trying to avoid as many grammatical mistakes as I can.
