Not the best first impression, but it is just pre- season, which is always sloppy. Factor in the new players and different rotations, it'll amplify that a bit.

I don't think anyone on the team thinks it's to be perfect day 1, but these are all smart vets who will figure it out as they get more accustomed to playing together.

It was most evident with Russ, but I felt like GS had our number when it came to our passes leading to TOs. Some can be chopped up to lazy, sloppy and telegraphed passes, but they knew where the ball was going to be before our guy did. I would say maybe they watched tape, but there's no tape on these units yet.

Most passes were basic. We could see the turnover before it happened. Our offense was extremely basic and sloppy, we didn't see many set plays, specially when Rondo didn't had the ball.
I believe time will take care of that, it's natural. We have 10 new players, they should not be gelling until Xmas and peak should only come around the All-star break

yeah, he wasn't throwing the ball out of bounds because folks weren't there. he was throwing to targets so obvious that the dubs defenders (and we at home) knew them 2 full seconds in advance.

i won't be concerned unless it becomes a trend.

but i'm not sure it's the offense. i actually felt like we were trying to do more creative things than we did last year, for example.

Already seems to be more movement. Must be Penberthy in that coach’s role now … eh?

honestly, not having kidd's empty suit filling an assistant coach role is a step forward.

Ok maybe don't have this kind of boxscore at least next game. That's not too much to ask

On the plus side, his 3 ball looked better. His simple passes as he drove and found the dunker were successful. Still preseason. He's running about 3 gears lower than he does in a real NBA game.

It’s just pre-season, but also comments from Wizards and Rockets fans make it seem like he just generally has a slow start. He’ll need time to find his groove within the rhythm of the rest of our guys, learn their preferences, etc, but I’m confident he will get there eventually.

He was a** last year at the start and then carried the Wizards into the playoffs the second half of the season

Expected during preseason and during his feeling out process to start the season, but I wonder if we'll mix it up and push for him to be aggressive to me keep the defense honest.

It isn't just "slow start" or "just preseason".

He's a great player, but he has a very particular skill-set that we're all aware of and there are adjustments that need to be made.

I don't mind starting Dwight if we go big. However, I would rather avoid that.

I'll tell you why: starting Dwight or DJ means we shrink the floor for Russell & LBJ. If you have two bigs clogging the paint for two guys who gave notoriously attacked downhill for all of their careers, it is probably better to start AD at the 5.

This is my choice: if we want to maximize both LBJ and Russ working together.

You can do it otherwise, IMO.

FYI: AD said he's starting at the 5 the last two games of the preseason with Russ and LBJ yesterday after the game.

Russ has a game based on athleticism, aggression and relying on instincts. Right now he is trying to fit in and over thinking. After his triple doubles start including turnovers he will say "f" that and just start playing again...lol irritating but not concerning yet.
