Westbrook and team chemistry would have to be a complete disaster for the Lakers to deal him. Otherwise, it would be a bad look if we want to attract good people in the future

It won’t happen. Aside from harming players opinions of us, the only way Westbrook gets you Lillard is if he is balling. If he is balling, we are a top seed. And there is no way a top seed breaks up a winning formula.

    Just not going to happen.

There's just no way this happens. We don't have enough to offer with your trade scenario. Nunn is on a one year deal. Russ will have one year left. THT while my hopes are super high is still a work in progress. The Jailblazers are gonna want a haul players and picks for Lillard and we don't have what it takes. Aside from that breaking up a team mid season to try and add a player who would have to learn all of our schemes on offense and defense and rebuild chemistry is a terrible idea. There won't be any sort of clarity until this season plays out and at that point Nunn is out of the equation anyways.

Honestly I'm more than happy with the team we have right now. Did you or anyone else think we would land guys like Nunn and Monk let alone Russ?

Westbrook is finishing his contract with us. And Nunn is definitely not starting. This ain't 2K

Nice!!! This gives us a better chance of retaining him after the season because we don't have his bird rights. I already mentioned that Nunn should start at shooting guard. I think this also increases the chances of that happening! He is going to need minutes, to produce the statistics necessary to justify giving him a nice contract later.

I prefer Nunn off the bench.

Westbrook running with either Ellington or Monk. Then THT + Nunn off the bench. Two combo guards who are friends with chemistry.

Even though I think we'll rarely see both Russ and Bron sitting (so you'll have 1 of them handing the ball most of the time), I agree that Nunn is needed for the PG off the bench role. Otherwise you have to active regular season Rondo into a much larger role than we should.

I hear you. But maybe THT gets the backup point guard minutes though?

I have a good feeling about how Nunn will produce for us. This year I can see him elevating from a Nunn to playing like a mother, a mother superior.

If he does my nickname for him will be MS for the Mofo Superior.

I don’t really like THT for that role. It’s like the Ingram stretch of games where he played PG, it’s nice that you can do that in a pinch but it’s not the direction either of them should go to have long successful careers.

THT needs to really expel his energy becoming an elite defensive stopper, that’s how he’ll get a lot of playing time and secure himself as a long term NBA rotation player. Messing about bringing the ball up and setting up the offence will just stagnate that. Especially when we have Russ, Lebron, Rondo and Nunn.

i liked that he tried to set screens and move when he was off the ball last night. if he could mix in some purposeful cuts with that, he'll be more of a threat. he's an odd player, really. a wing trapped in a pg's body, but with serious wing athleticism and wingspan. he may be miscast as an initiator, much as svtzr suggested for THT.

Monk and Nunn are going to be great additions off the bench. I like Rondo, but I think Monk and Nunn will be the best options coming off the bench, they play with such control, have more to their game than just a guy standing behind the 3 point line waiting for a kick out. Laker team will be fun to watch

as much as i would prefer playing nunn/monk, rondo's looked more valuable so far in the preseason. just really steady running the offense, and i'm not sure those two younger, more athletic players are seeing those attributes translate to better defense than rondo, either.

You’re not saying Rondo is just a guy standing behind the 3 point line waiting for a kick out …. are you? It seems to be the comparison with the wording but??

Yeah, I really like what I've seen out of both Monk and Nunn but neither are thriving at running the offense even for a play. If you have Bron or Russ in and only need them to bring the ball up and hand it off, they have good enough handles to do that. And I agree, saw more from Nunn vs. GS than for us previously... but Rondo is our third best playmaker, maybe 2nd if Russ is playing fast and loose with the ball.

I think he was not making that comparison.

He was saying Monk and Nunn were more than guys that only shoot 3s
