From the standpoint of being a volume shooter from behind the arc we don't have anyone better then Hield but you're right as far as shot creation in the pick and roll and athleticism for those 2 I won't even begin to argue that. My main point is with Sac Hield had to take some tougher shots because he didn't have Bron and AD, or for that fact Russ or Nunn to be able to give him the number of easy looks he'd get with us. I think he would get a higher percentage of easier looks with our squad
Getting Larry Nance Jr back has been in the back of my mind for a year now. He would be lights out with Lebron throwing him lobs. He's almost non-existent in Cleveland. I forget he's in the league sometimes.
So I looked up his Octagon agent on HoopsHype. Turns out he has two. Guess Austin must be their lead agent and can't be bothered after his commission from Steph and Giannis Saratsis has a lousy client list outside of Bam. He's probably Lloyd the receptionist at the agency (Entourage reference).
Yeah. Because he plays for Cleveland. But he's, what... 27 years old? Athletic, plays big, would be a great athletic 4 for us. There's no reason for the Cavs to hold on to him and he's loved by the Lakers fans.
It could work. DS to Boston Jabari to Cleveland Nance JR to LA We and Boston throw some 2nd round picks and everyone is happy. Boston gets a PG to start (!) and doesn't send us players so they don't get butthurt, Cleveland gets picks and a expiring (throw also Edwards if needed) and we get a solid 4/5 who would thrive with Westbrook. Also ends contract the same time WB. It's perfect, someone send this to Rob
Man what does it say about Dennis that the Wizards chose to do a S&T for Dinwiddie for 3yrs/60mil when he didn't even play last year because of a torn ACL over a S&T with us for him. Something can still happen, but as of right now this is looking like a historic miscalculation on his part.
the friendship probably matters a lot, but i do think it's interesting that nobody wants to pay dennis at all. he wasn't THAT bad, jeez! same with reggie jackson, who actually saved his team's bacon in the playoffs (the anti-dennis, if you will). dinwiddie has a troubling injury history and has never really outperformed either of those guys, imo.
I don't think there is anything that can happen at this point that won't make this a historic miscalculation. No one will give him anywhere close to that 84 million because, well, no one has to since no one has any money left.
It's not that no one wants to pay Dennis it's that no team in the NBA right now has 25+ mil to give him per year. I am sure there are several teams who would take him for the MLE. Dennis turned down the extension in March, right? I think he might have got butthurt that the Lakers were gonna package him for Lowry. Then, to make up for it, he blew a** in the playoffs and had to go to protocol twice for COVID. Overvalued, oversensitive and bad decision making all wrapped in one. Now, he is gonna have to have a miracle done by Rob Pelinka or he's taking a 1 year deal for 13 mil or something or take the MLE.
Schroder doesn't shoot the 3. That's bad in today's NBA. I would take Dindwidie too. I wanted him so bad last year via trade until he got hurt
