I'm resigned to the fact that the team is what it is, and we won't S&T Schroder for anything. The luxury tax would just hurt too much. Hield's value is kind of redundant when we have Ellington, Nunn and Monk. Who will all have a chance to fit that SG 3pt shooter spot.

Does anyone want this guy? I’d love to get something for him.

I'd bring him back for a little over whatever cap space is left out there for a year. Hey, he's still talented. If he acts like a snatch, sit his a** down then...win win

No…..the only reason I would bring him back is so I could trade him at the deadline for something. Of course it doesn’t seem like anyone wants him. Dennis needs to stop playing hard to get when he’s hard to want.

This is bad. I would seriously be punching myself in the face and shooting my agent if this happened to me. However, I would not have made this decision. I would have taken the 84 million.

He has to be feeling like the chump of the century right about now. ????? Every possible destination for him, got somebody else, except the Knicks I guess. We are not getting anyone for him and our roster can't take that much cost. I think we let him walk. Sorry man, we just couldn't be fair enough for you so we just let you walk. Good luck.

His agent is a former German national player Ademola Okulaja (Nigerian, perhaps a prince with financial connections?), clearly, a noob, not foreseeing the bounty of (better) PGs that would be available this off-season.

No, Herr Schröder's only hope of not looking a complete fool is if he comes out of whatever possible S&T might be happening with a better than 84 for 4 offer. And as a primary ball-handler (we know it will not be on a marquee team now as he wanted). There is no way that will happen with a guy with 4.7 career assists .337 career on 3s and it's 45% of all his shots (pretty much identical to his output with the Purple & Gold)

If we can S&T him then we should take the trade exception and get some tax-free and cap rules-free signing ability

Hield is one of the best 3 point shooters in the league and infinitly better then anyone on our current roster. Dude can straight light it up. Imagine the open looks he would have playing with this squad, nothing like what he got with sac and he still shot 39% last year on 10+ attempts per game. He's the fastest player in league history to 1k 3 point makes in his first 3 seasons/350 gamed. He's worth the luxury tax being the sniper he is. Would be nice to pick him up but I don't think there's anyway to do it now

He may be better (because of the volume and his green light I guess) but he’s not infinitely better than guys we have shooting in same 40% and higher neighborhood. Some of these guys, Nunn and Monk, can do a lot more in other areas than him in other important aspects of the game, from what I’ve read?

No doubt Buddy is a great shooter. But signing him will result in over a 100m dollar tax bill. So viewing it through that lens, his value is redundant. Wayne Ellington has shown he can be a 40% shooter on 8-10 attempts as well if he is allowed to let it fly. In fact last time he played for us he shot 41% on 9.5 attempts.

the guy who played for UNC? needs a new job soon, i guess.

i'd like to use schroder's salary (as i've detailed ad nauseum), but not on hield. it would be different if we didn't already have a logjam at sg.

both sac and schroder get to sit around looking stupid right now.

trying to drive a hard bargain on a guy everyone knows you need to dump...nah, we'll just trade basically the same package for westbrook.

Funny that’s a word I haven’t heard in a long time but I do remember it as a kid. Father and his family were German and mother Italian. I don’t remember if it was directed at me or not, don’t think so …..

Honestly, I'm sure we're trying to get something going here...

I mean, OKC has so many picks and could use Dennis again. We could even pretend to be friends with Boston (yeah, I know), because they can absorb him and can use a guard. There has to be someone in this league needing a guard that can send us a cheap wing or a pick, or maybe two second-round picks, right?

I'd really love if we could somehow convince the Cavs to send us Larry Nance Jr. back for Dennis.
