Let's just stop and think about what Adam Silver has done. He rushed the league back for "reasons" where all the stars are dropping like flies, and we could actually see the Atlanta Hawks as the 2021 NBA Champions. Let that sink in. The team that passed on Luka to draft Trae Young may actually win a ring...behind that same Trae Young. If ever an asterisk belongs next to a championship, this is the year.

Other than the fact that Doc is the biggest choke artist on any bench in the league. And I mean he's as bad at coaching in the moment as Ben is with playing in it. Both should have to go watch the games from the locker room in the 4th quarter of games. Let more qualified personnel take it from there. But other than that, I don't think the 6ers can win in today's NBA. Not in the post-season. I don't care how many shooters you have on your roster, if neither of them are your 2 best players, you can't win. Joel is a Curry brother compared to Ben and even then, the big man only hits 1 out of 3. Ben is the 13th worst 3 point shooter on his team. The two behind him only played 9 games COMBINED this season. That's not a winning formula today.

    The real COY.

    COLD

Not a good city to be in when you're owed nearly $150m over 4 and don't show up.

That makes Shaq look like Steve Nash at the line.

i don't see how the sixers bring simmons back after that disaster. imagine thinking he's a max player? kind of feel bad for the guy because it's obvious he's mentally broken

if the sixers were smart they'd fire doc too but somehow, the guy keeps getting jobs despite choking year after year

The players voted for this early start of the season too .

They all can speak about health , they're not choosing it over money .

Who is willing to take Ben? It's a tough spot for the Sixers but they have to blow it up with Ben.

Maybe Washington does it for Russ?
    Dallas...but KP doesn't fit
    OKC with Kemba and Dort?
Warriors but no way Philly accepts Oubre, Wiseman and Wiggins
    Kings offering everyone but Fox?
Portland for McCollum? This I see happening
Toronto for Lowry or VanVleet and OG? Not super crazy...

This one is going to be interesting, it will be the deal of the offseason

i don't think i move him if i'm philly, tbh. his value has to be at a low point. and i think he'll get better because of this well-publicized failure. i remember when chris webber was underperforming in the playoffs for years, and i felt like once it hit a low, he started turning things around (didn't matter then, as other things happened, but still). i think paul george is experiencing that this year, too. the pressure is off after his recent postseason failures.

I think Philly should trade him for KCP.

It’s inexcusable to be as bad at shooting as Simmons is. Plenty of players suck at shooting, sure, but Simmons clearly doesn’t even work on his shot or care to. He not only can’t shoot, he won’t shoot, and it’s why the Sixers will never win with him as their 2nd best player. To not advance your game after all this time is baffling, being a tall PG that can pass very well is great, but you still have to shoot, it’s the friggin NBA.

he had a bad playoffs, and that might continue. but we can't just wash away all the good things he does because he can't/won't shoot. i think you have to build your team pretty specifically if you have simmons, which is a problem. i also think this is a mental thing that he can, in theory, get past. but it might take a change of scenery like it did for lonzo.

The guy is not a scrub but the trouble is, Philly is paying surperstar money to a guy who is not a superstar. Just looked up his contract and he has a 15% trade kicker too.

well...lots of guys are paid max that aren't "superstars", right? i think simmons is very valuable, and i'd probably be ok paying him max. ingram gets max. siakam gets max. holiday, tobias harris, middleton, all get paid the same as simmons.

despite his terrible shooting, he still manages to be a + on offense every year of his career, and his defense is outstanding.

it would be best if he were paired with a shooter as the other star. either one of lillard/mccollum would be a great match with him, imo. and i bet morey called on lillard weeks ago and portland probably countered with cj (also max, btw).

i think embiid and harris are the wrong complements for simmons. to maximize him, you want to defend, create turnovers and run. sort of like the showtime lakers. embiid and harris are half-court guys. and embiid really needs to be in the paint to be most effective, which shuts off driving/cutting opportunities for simmons.

No excuse for Simmons to not be a giant freakishly athletic Rondo. Rondo ain’t Steph Curry, but he’ll take and make open shots.

i don't understand all this hate for the hawks. i've seen so many people on social media complain about this as well

outside of making the ECF in '15 and a couple playoff runs in the late 00s, the hawks have been the definition of mediocrity. i think it's awesome they've made it this far and they're definitely my pick to win it all. true, young is tough to watch because he's modeled his game after harden, but i can't hate on what he's been doing

I think it's Trae's game and that he's embraced the villain role against the Knicks and 6ers fans. He's eating up and fueling the hate

i think the system is broken when the league's 12th best team wins a title, and that's the source of the complaints.

also, i can hate on what young does. just like harden--being talented doesn't mean i have to excuse the crapbaggery. it's not fun to watch or good for the game.
