Ox has a good point in that the reporter shouldn’t really be asking specific medical questions when the NBA has kept that stuff private. However DS keeps volunteering information about the fact that he hasn’t gotten vaxxed. And yet he says he won’t get the virus? I don’t think anyone is understanding his reasoning. I know I’m not. If he wants to avoid missing time on the court (happened twice this season so far) he should get the vax as his best protection. He doesn’t have to by mandate but it represents his best bet in avoiding it with a 95% efficacy (or 70% with the one shot).

Regardless of all this I’m off the DS train. I thought we could work out a reasonable deal with him but $20 million plus a year is way too high for what he brings. Let’s move on and invest in AC Fresh and THT, guys who want to be here.

Yeah he's a d*** ..... but he's our speedster defending, layup making, sometimes difference making, wanting to get paid in the offseason / must perform in these playoffs .... d***. I like it.

maybe he has been tested for antibodies and has them in abundance. Our friend has been tested for antibodies and his doctor says he has them in abundance and they had many back dated samples due to other conditions he suffers from and they said he has probably had those antibodies for years. Turns out that some people could have always had these anti bodies waiting to save them from covid. Could have come from some other form of covid that was contacted but not reacted to, etc etc whatever. It is possible for some people to be candidates for immunity. He might be the guy who is least likely to get it. ??????? Anything is possible and if you are unwilling to give this type of approach any credence then I would ask you why you give any other approach any credence?

Becoming infected after being vaccinated has nothing to with it. He said he was not vaccinated. Then he said “I mean at least I can’t get it no more in the playoffs".

The reporter politely tried to clarify this with Dennis and he became a pissy little spoiled millionaire.

If it's a rules issue, say "I'm sorry, we're not allowed to comment on this"

He knows he's getting paid regardless of how he finishes the season with the Lakers. I understand that he wants to get paid to take care of his family, I get it. But I hope he understands he won't get paid here if he's not up to Laker standards on doing his damn job and contributing for a title.

Let's be honest of our 3 PGs, AC and THT have made giant strides and improvements on both ends, Schroder has not been as good as advertised. He brings a unique element of speed and on ball defense to the team. But that hasn't materialized into enough wins so far. The playoffs will be telling and truly reveal what Schroder is about

i think he's been good in spots, but inconsistent. just not close to his asking price, though. i guess if he goes nova and drives us to repeat, he'll get his cash from us. but i see that as HIGHLY unlikely. more likely, he takes less than what we offered to play for the knicks or mavs or bulls.

He should really sign with the Knicks. They would love to have him, I think.

Whatever, and thanks for more bulletin board material in case we meet them. But maybe that's how he pumps himself up as a competitor.

From B/R's article on under the radar FAs

Sounds like guesswork by some front office peeps around the league, but if he's unhappy with his role, a role where we're catering to him, F him.

maybe we take noah's last year and quickley in a S&T. or derrick rose, though the article says they keep him. can't imagine why they'd pay to keep rose, pay schroder 20+ per, and keep quickley.

i'm not sure quickley won't be better than schroder very soon, but it would be knicks-ish not to see that.

It’s pretty telling that I don’t really care what happens with Schroeder’s contract right now. Sign him or don’t, I don’t care too much at the moment.

I would however riot if we lose Caruso or THT.

Seems I’m in the minority, but I still think it makes more sense to lock him up if he’s in the ~$20 million range. Losing him for nothing hurts our options in terms of roster construction. Barring a significant decline, Schröder at his current level of production I think would still be tradeable at 4 years/$80 million for example.

Of course if Rob can get creative and pull of some sort of sign and trade that allows us to get some assets in return instead of having to commit to him, that would probably make the most sense.

Also still think it’s quite possible that he plays great for us in these playoffs and we end up wanting to keep him long-term.

What does Dennis mean by, what happened in the game? I don’t remember anything.

When he and Kyrie got tossed and and Irving accused him of using the N word on him.

    Dennis can walk.

I cringe anytime he shoots anything outside a layup. He also comes across as a team cancer.

You’ve stated that like 4 times and you’re just wrong. WTF? Not that you can’t cringe for whatever weird reason but that he just can’t shoot.
