He's going to take Schroeder's contract and starting spot at this rate. He's known as an off ball type and passer and teams play him for that. If he starts punishing that adjustment by hitting the pullup midrange jumper and just attacking the rim off the dribble you have problems if you're the other team
Hopefully he balls out in the playoffs first and against all odds .... in this most difficult season .... worse than last year even, we shock the world. But yeah.
AC is a fighter and a champ. He needs to be a part of this team for some years to come. We can’t replace the heart and D that he brings at the position. Let DS walk or sign and trade him but AC Fresh should be our starting PG next year. He is such a great complementary player alongside Lebron and AD.
No question in my mind that Eagle should be starting heading into the playoffs. He is a more versatile defender than DS. He syncs with LeBron and AD much better. He has a much higher BBIQ. Plus, how do you not start the 3rd best defensive rated player in the league when defense wins championships. It's time to permanantly move him into the starting lineup. Then turn DS loose with Trez and Kuz and THT off the bench.
Totally agree. DS got his chance to audition for starting PG this season and the results were mixed at best. He was always a much better fit off the bench. Time for him to do what is best for the team.
Basically, what I was saying at the beginning of the season, except that Dennis went with the "I did that bench thing already" spiel. But that's the best use of his talent with guys like THT and Trez who can score really well and can destroy the other team's bench without too much trouble. Oh well. I was originally hoping that AC and Wes can share some minutes with KCP in the lineup with Bron, AD and Marc (later Drum), so that no one plays too much and you always have some sharpshooters to stretch the floor for AD to operate.
Not to mention AC is shooting 42% consistently from 3. DS is not a deep threat consistently. Unless last night dropped AC down a bit. Watched late after great mothers day meal with fam and nodded off most of the 3rd quarter LOL. Woke in time to see us up big late in 3rd and then freak we were going to blow that lead late in the 4th.
"Caruso/Davis/James on the floor: +24.7 net (98.1 defRTG) 206 possessions." These are eye-popping numbers.
big lesson from this season is to find guys happy to fit in instead of going big on talent. once you've got the two big stars, you can fill in around them with guys who enjoy their role. schroders and drummonds can play for the pistons and kings.
I agree. Chemistry is the key. Just get a couple 3 and D guys who buy in. Like an Avery Bradley type.
