Since Feb 1, he's shooting 33% from 3. He's still rebounding, defending and making plays but his 3 ball is still unreliable
He is what he is...role player. Sucks that he can't be more than that - even with Bron/AD out. But then again - we have other guys that can step up offensively now and Kuz will have to keep getting it done defensively for us to have a chance at winning these games witohut our top 2. Keep it up, Kuz. ANd please hit some wide open 3's!
He will have to play less in the playoffs for us to win it all ( will when Bron is back) This is my concern with the injuries , too many lineups thrown out there close to the end of the season . The players and lineups who should play during the postseason will have little time to build habits back. It should change once Bron comes back
@wcsoldier81 .... you made a puzzling statement a couple days ago that was hard to agree with. Let me say I would love to see less minutes in situations for Drummond and more for Gasol when we’re playing big. The movement on offense with him passing and spacing with his 3 pointer hitting at good % really looks good out there. But you flat out said AD2 should not see the floor. Certainly there’s a lot of advantages he brings to counter his shortcomings. We should not expect AD1 coming off the scary injury, “maybe”, to even play as much 5 as he did last year in them. I personally feel that Marc would have worked himself by the playoffs into the shape needed to have shouldered the load with Harrell and AD1 in winning time. Also that said AD2 brings around the rim, rebounding and in some ways defensively and vertically of course what Marc can’t. Those two steals and solo trips up the floor for dunks were eye openers. SO .... matchups ... rest for all out stints in games by our Bigs on the floor and matchups hopefully that Frank calls the shots on well, is my hope. Where is your Drummond shouldn’t see the floor statement coming from? Just curious as I respect your opinion, but that’s a head scratcher.
He isn't sound enough defensively and doesn't space the floor offensively . Playoffs games are often won in details and Drummond isn't there ( at least yet and won't be in less than 1 month) when it comes to taking smart decisions , rotate defensively ect ... I think it's the same for a couple of others players , will be tough to get away with playing THT and Trez significant minutes past the 1st round , I don't trust their defensive IQ either.
WELL .... we know clearly Frank is a defense first coach and will know all this too plus things we don’t about the circumstances and FO plans. Then there’s LeBron and AD1. So Frank is going to need to have a heart to heart with Pelinka for direction on this. And would imagine Rob same with his 2 superstars. Tough situation for the coach.
Oh, no problem at all. Sometimes the discussion might take a different turn here and there. But I literally started reading last couple of posts, which were quite good, but then I told myself... "wait, I thought I clicked on the Kuz thread...", then I scrolled up and realized it was a Kuz thread, LOL. All good. But there's some good stuff about Drummond here, I'd definitely like to see you guys discuss it in his thread, because there are some tough decisions Vogel will have to make soon about his center rotation. And it might really depend on the opponent more than anything else, who knows?
Vogel has shown he will make decisions based on opponents. Look no further than the playoffs last season where Dwight didn't play against Houston and then was a beast against Denver. I think a lot of Vogel's rotation will be completely dependent on the opponent. A lot of coaches can't do that due to egos. This team has 14 dudes who will do whatever the team needs. So he can sit players for an entire series if he needs to. Most coaches don't have that type of chemistry on their team.
Not even Kuz knows exactly what's wrong with the team. But yeah, they are not good enough to even make the playoffs right now.
the whole team knows the lakers screwed it up with marc gasol/andre drummond. amazing how impactful that was.
