Agree, but I think McKinnie made a strong case for minutes in certain matchups like the Clips, Denver and Nets. As for McLemore, it was fun to see someone in a Lakers uni knock down shots.
I love how they kept re-screening for him to get an open look on the perimeter. It’s like the bizarro re—post to get shaq deeper position.
No idea if he keeps it up, I’m sure he’s streaky, but I remember hating him on the Kings because he’d bomb threes on us, and that form is pure
seems like it's a true jump shot from there. Like he gets pretty vertical on these shots, and I suppose I'm used to seeing guys not leap quite as much. Much harder to block I'd think.
Kobe of course went for the full advantage possible with his, often, falling back as well as great elevation. Can’t imagine how hard and how much strength needed to master that technique.
He's just not very good. Hope with Matthews and Kuzma coming back he can be put back onto the bench. Just not of a defender as KCP and Matthews and he's just as streaky of a shooter as both Bball Lebron index and 528 raptor basically all point to the same conclusion - bad on defense and he's not a consistent enough of a shooter to make up for it
Exception to the rule .... can still shoot the ball in a Lakers uniform. Looks like a great P/U off waivers.
How odd is it that a guy with his athleticism to compete in the 2014 Dunk contest wound up making his name as a shooter?
how is he so slow-footed on defense? it's odd to see for a smallish guard in the nba. and aside from (streaky) shooting, he just doesn't do anything else out there. can't be trusted to make decisions with the ball. i just don't see him getting playoff burn and your coach feeling confident about it. part of me is not even certain he'll be playing in the nba next year, tbh. but i suppose his hot streaks are enough for teams to consider keeping him around. for us, i feel like mckinnie has a stronger case for any extra wing minutes.
McKinnie gives good effort on defense and he can hit a wide open 3 so I'm with you there. McClemore I think just has no basketball IQ to speak of. He's athletic so if you have a poor handle you should able to move off ball (ala Reddick) to help your team but nope he just waits to get the rock and fires away. On defense, I'm not sure he watches any film
Because he was (is he still playing?) a hell of a defender? Methinks McLemore is starting to get a wee bit too much hate around here. The guy can shoot and he can get hot. Vogel’s not going to have him in games when we’re at full strength if he’s hurting us. Maybe not even on the active playoff roster.
McLemore is just fine off the bench. He just needs to come in and stretch the floor in limited minutes.
