I was a huge fan of his in OKC, I actually thought he was one of the most underrated players in the league, so I was delighted when we got him, but the reality is he hasn't played great this year, and particularly his outside shooting went from 39% to 32% which is just not good enough.

I think unless he is amazing in the playoffs it would probably be better for everyone if he parts ways with the Lakers

Yeah, he looks good in spurts, but I don't think he's nearly worth $20M. At least not for us.

Maybe we can work a S&T this summer so that we don't lose him for nothing.

His offense is a little clunky without athletic slashers around him, he looks like he's just stuck in the mud with this team.

But the comb of Schroder/Harrell still works very well and Dennis got most of his free throws running that P & R with Trezz. Defense at the end was very good too

What a great house to raise looks like 3 kids. But dang it I wanted to see more of the indoor hoop, outdoor(?) BB court, looks like tennis court too or conversion capable and the pool and home theater which were all reported. Too bad he may be gone from it so often if he winds up on some other team out of town chasing 20+M dollars a season.

That’s insane, he can walk if he doesn’t think that’s enough. Fair on both sides LOL

When we were in the Lowry mix, it was quite clear that A) the negotiations with Schroder aren't going well. B) he won't be back next year.

Honestly, he did us a favor. He's not worth that. $21m per?! No.

He has been important to us and to Bron and honestly, he had a chance to max his value out by taking the lead with them out. I don't feel like he's done that at all. I actually think he's cost himself money, especially with the decreased shooting numbers.

First you see if Conley or CP3 want to play for free. Then you look at Dragic, then Rose. It's a really weak crop which is why we were trying to solve it before we got to the off season.

That's like the salary of Kuz and Trez combined.

    Sayonara Dennis.

Dennis really overplaying his hand here. It would be one thing if he started playing off the charts with Lebron and AD out. He’s had some nice games, but not anywhere close to being worth $20M+. Hopefully for the team and for his future he balls out the rest of the year, but I don’t expect him to be a Laker next year and at that price tag, that’s fine.

sounds like he's really banking on the playoffs to prove he's worth that

because all in all, he's been a disappointment so far with the lakers and i don't see any team paying him more than that

Extremely foolish on DS’s part. I don’t see anyone paying close to that for him on the open market. He’s an undersized me first scoring guard with limited shooting ability. Not a good look for him: insisting on the starting PG role here, which he’s only done a passable job at, turning down a two year extension before the season at a good and fair price and now rejecting a four year max money deal to play on the defending champions with Lebron and AD. Stupid. See ya later Dennis.

I personally think he’s a slightly above avg player overall.

not sure what Rob was thinking here offering up 21 mill per year. Soda glad it was declined. Wayyyyyy too much to tie up for this guy for what he gives us and produces.

I’m with everyone else on moving on from him after this year. Great decline.

21 million is also a great trade piece. In the NBA, salaries are more than just paying. Its assets for trades.

Fair offer for DS and a place to be in a good organization going forward.
Surprised he didn't take it because we're not sure what league revenue is going to look like going forward and teams might be scared off

21 million is a reasonable price for second tier PG: oh well.

Dennis's definition of fair makes it unfair for the Lakers. I think he's around $20-22 so the question is if he truly wants to play for the Lakers. If he wins a title and plays well, maybe some other team will overpay him but I don't think he's worth more than that. I'd rather the Lakers chase after Jrue Holiday (great friend of AD who may opt-out and take less on a longer deal) or even go after DeMar who has shown that he can become a high level playmaker and may ultimately just sign with the Lakers to win a title.

It's a gamble for him because that might not be in the table should God forbid he'll be IT 2.0
