guessing he wants 4/80 (83, i guess, as that's his max extension). i'd offer 3/55 as a compromise, as it's a slight raise in money and years over what he turned down. again, the calculus is what other teams have to offer and how much they'd spend on him. i don't think he gets 4/80 on the open market--or even very close to it.
Started the season playing great but is just missing wide open shots from just about everywhere on the court. I'm quite disappointed. He's pretty good defensively but it just seems like he can be doing so much more. He should be honest with himself and the team and volunteer to come off the bench. If he comes off the bench, plays well, and helps the Lakers win a title, he'll get the same amount of money as if he started. This guy has not been good lately. You can't play 30 minutes as the lead guard on the team and have 1 assist and 10 points... THT or Caruso can do that and they get paid pennies on the dollar.
He needs to come off the bench. He's being muzzled as no one is going to take the ball out of the hands of an apex predator like Lebron. It will put him in the best place to succeed and it's not a knock on the guy. Better dudes then him such as Bosh, Love, and even D Wade have had to adjust their games
Are you going to every thread tonight and complaining about every player? Just watch the games and enjoy the wins.
It's a message board and this was a total we have Lebron James and you don't have type of games. Between this and the GS game team has the right personnel but a lot of work to do to maximize the talent. Lebron and the GOAT can only save your bacon so many times
You just described the NBA for the last 70 years. Mega Stars do this and win games during January games in Cleveland. Lebron saved the Lakers the day he arrived. And AD sealed it for the next decade. Enjoy the games and the stars. There is a reason the role players are role players and Lebron is who he is.
Hopefully he's saving us some cash with this atrocious offensive stretch of basketball and it drives down the terms of his extension. I'm all for keeping him. His D has been good and he let's Bron coast when he needs to, but DAMN his offense has gone to complete s***. A convo needs to be had. He can still get a lot of run with the starters by playing 30+ minutes, but he needs to move to the second unit. He shows nearly zero offensive gumption when he's out there with the starters. Next to Trez, Kuz, and AC, he can push the ball at a faster pace and can get more looks as option 1A or 1B, depending on who Trez is facing. Schroder is a 15-20 point guy. He's not getting the looks, pacing, rhythm, or plays to best utilize his skills. He will not get those when he's the worst fit amongst he starters. Whether it's before or after the extension, swap him out with Wes and watch both flourish in the roles they were meant to play here.
Yeah, I wish people would chill a little on him. We have the best record in the league and joining new teams isn't always easy for everyone. DS has skills, he will figure it out.
Maybe this is one of those things like Vogel is riding out the regular season struggles hoping for better postseason play ala Rondo. I don't know if Schroder can be that guy
Schroeder played great. Love when he's isolated against slower footed guys and he's got shooters to space the floor
Caruso isn't the player Schroeder is, but he should start. His game meshes with Bron much better. Schroeder and AD have not found a bond i expected. Schroeder can go back to dominating the opponents 2nd unit.
I imagine Vogel and Bron really pressed him at half time to do something in that second half. He looked like a completely different player and was actually engaged on offense. No one could stop those drives from him. Need more consistency there.
