he's got a lot you can't teach. will he get the stuff you can? jr smith and darius miles never did, but i have more hopes for THT.
I know it is and I’m ok if I’m wrong but I love this kid. Don’t know who’s place he’d take but minimum he needs to be in the rotation not just sucking up extra minutes here and there.
it's hard to sit kcp, AC, or matthews, though. they're mostly doing everything right and filling their roles, while THT is learning on the job. can't sit schroder for many reasons. kuz is maybe the only one, and maybe getting him paid might help with that. i think THT has a chance to be very good, but right now, for what we need, he's probably not better than any of them? edit: we MUST keep him, btw, unless it means trading for an all nba-er in his prime (like a beal). just too much talent. he's the kind of guy that could possibly become an allstar, and we're not in a spot where we need help enough to even consider moving him for less than an AD-type no-brainer.
Because it was such a short offseason, I think we should start a rotation for rest. One night we sit KCP, next night Matthews, next Bron etc. THT could pick up minutes from whoever isn’t playing that night. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we trade Kuzma sometime this year. Don’t know for who or what but that could open up a spot depending on the circumstances. THT has too much of an upside to keep him glued to the bench.
Well Cookie remembers maybe that Vogel himself said it after practice one day during the Finals to Dan Woike of the LA Times, who had said he looked pretty good out there as he was watching him get more practice in. Something like, "man that effing kid I'm probably going to have to start him this coming season". (am sure he was thinking "at some point")
I believe this. If the Eagle can start a deciding game in the Finals, THT a far superior talent can do it. Again I'm a homer but if other pundits like noted Laker hater Hollinger are trying to devise ways to pry him away then there is something there.
THT is a superior talent but Caruso has a higher BBIQ that makes him better than he really is. The plays that Caruso can see before it develops is J-Kidd like. Not saying he's an elite PG but he's got the awareness that you can't teach.
hollinger's just hedging and trying to make himself feel better. for real. if we sign him, whatever amount will be deemed too much. or it will be the death of our capsheet, which will lead to the demise of the franchise. there's only one gear for hollingers.
I'm more likely to think next year is his year, and we keep him hungry and growing this year. More minutes are available next year.
Might as well start him He's going to be special but just don't know what to do with all these Laker guards when they're fully healthy. KCP/DS/AC/THT are all good but the non Lebron Laker forwards aren't that great. This could be a setup for a trade
He got potential but we're playing for a title here . Needs to stay on the bench by Game 20 if he's going to give up so much defensively
I'm getting more convinced that they should start him. He's got really impressive passing instincts not only playmaking off the drive but he's great at swinging the ball around the perimeter as well. Just so advanced for his age
His D is waaay to behind to start him. Zach abused him early. He had a nice 3rd Q punch. I like that he's improving on his drive and kick outs, that's a big addition to his game. Plus if he starts, he'll be as useless offensively as Schröder often looks next to Bron and AD. Off the bench he has more of a green light.
He's making a case for starter right now. His D needs a lot of work but he's providing great production at the guard spot
This guy has an amazing finish under the rim with his long wingspan. Hopefully he'll get starter minutes next season.
