...and he's doing it with his defender pressuring him up top.

I stand by it. His career best is 4.7 assists in a season. I think he can average 5 a night with us. Point Gasol out there was setting up teammates with elite looks in a pre season game, without our two best players, and without getting any timing or chemistry down with his teammates yet.

It was poetry in motion. Can't wait to see what he opens up for AD and Bron. Also the easy cuts and lanes that will open up when those two take all of the attention of the defense. Guys like Schrod, Trez, KCP, Kuz, AC, and THT can feast on those looks.

Guys are more inclined to run/move and cut if they know they are likely to get the pass. This became very apparent when Marc was playing last night, the cutting and moving became almost contagious. If he can play this way I would think it also take less of a physical toll on his body as well and hopefully help keep him healthy all season.

He literally could dictate a game when he’s in without scoring

It does look like he’s out of shape and could mix in a salad and some sit-ups. The skill is undeniable. I’m only concerned about his age and durability.

he won’t have to carry a big load here, so this may be the ideal place to extend his career a bit

Missed some bunnies, but he's going to be such a great fit next to Bron and AD

I think he will need to be used on a matchup basis on most occasions, otherwise he is a liability.

I do Believe that AD can benefit incredibly to play with Marc, we just need to give them time

They need to fix this: Gasol should be a floor spacer/initiator. I think both him and Harell weren't really utilized well on offense.
Floor definitely looked more packed then last year and it shouldn't be with the personnel the Lakers have

I just think another athletic center „Dwight light“ would help us. We will find someone down the road.

this is why he's still a useful defender, despite his detractors screaming this:

btw, watched denver last night: jokic isn't any fleeter afoot than 36 year old marc gasol, tbh.
