He has choked quite a bit in the past, but I wouldn't say he choked this time. He's playing insane minutes and is pretty much the entire offense for Cleveland right now. We've seen a number of times with Kobe where he's exhausted at the end of games and missing shots...it happens, he didn't choke. I'm just glad LeBron's still taking shots even when they're not going in instead of disappearing or playing hot potato (2011 finals)

I'm really not understanding the LeBron hate for this series. I've always criticized him for not having the balls to take the last shot and being obsessed with efficiency.

That hasn't been the case in the playoffs this year. Even though he's not shooting well, he's still dominating these games. You don't even need to look at a stat sheet to notice the impact he's having.

I'm not criticizing him as much as I'm criticizing the media worship of him.

And yes he definitely choked when he missed a layup that would have won the game and just about dribbling the ball out of bounds with the game on the line.

He's been great, but let's be clear: the Warriors game plan is to let him be great and then outscore him as a team. The Warriors aren't hitting any shots, that's why their games are so close.

That was a tough layup. Make-able? Yes. I view choking as more mental though, like what happened in 2010, 2011 and almost in 2013.

here's what annoys me: the entirety of the media jumping on the "LeBron's not getting calls" train.

f*** that. yes, I cursed. that is crap. Zach lowe blathering on about iguodala getting to put a forearm on LeBron's side as he drove...are you KIDDING ME? I watched bruce bowen do things to kobe that would land you in prison and be praised for his great defense, but iguodala hacks LeBron after a nine step post move and the media pounces?

just tired of this. LeBron's good enough on his own to make a legacy; we don't need all these media antics trying to trump it up.

I think he looked pretty below average down the stretch which is the norm for him. If it wasn't for a lucky call given to Dirtyvedova, he'd have lost the game and been down 0-2 right now.

Unfortunately all the media would still be talking about is the Iguodala hack without mentioning the travel before it.

I agree with you. He's doing something he didn't do in past playoff runs and carrying the team on his back. He's not efficient right now but he is the entire offense at this point. It's not like he can give the ball to JR Smith and let him do something with it. Remember this team is missing Kyrie Irving who is a huge part of what they do and they're up 2 - 1 against a team with superior talent.

I think Lebron has actually earned the praise he's getting right now. This is clearly not the same guy that quit against the evil empire in 2010 and ran away and hid against Dallas in 2011, hoping an againg Wade would bail him out.

Lebron is dominating this Finals no question about that. What irks me is when people say, "This has never been done before", "What other superstar has lead their team to a ring without an additional star"

I'm just like, ya'll forget when Dirk beat 3 superstars (Wade, Bron, Bosh) by himself with his band of misfits?

Dirk vs Wade, Bosh, Bron or Bron vs Curry, Klay, Iggy

Medias acted like his 12-13 stretch was the most dominant ever too ...

Shaq 2000-2002 was way better ... People have a selective memory in order to fit the narrative of the moment ...

anyone who calls this 4 year stretch from lebron "the most dominant" has clearly only been watching basketball since 2010

the competition he's had to face has been ridiculously in the playoffs has been weak compared to what guys like jordan and kobe had to face. lebron didn't have to face teams like the 02 Kings or the early 00's Spurs or Blazers like kobe did

Not even 2010. I think Dirk's 2011 run was more impressive. He was so clutch and unstoppable. His teammates stepped up big too, but damn, Dirk was on fire. Even after he injured his finger, he was dominant.

He hasn't been clutch like 2011 Dirk or efficient. I'm just referring to this stretch in the finals, as far as dominating the ball on offense and controlling the pace is something I've never seen before. There's no taking plays off for LeBron...he's always in attack mode and playing 45+ minutes a game!

That's what's impressive to me. He's inefficient as hell but it doesn't matter because by controlling the tempo he's taken the Warriors out of their game.

I agree also that James has been playing a solid Finals but to say that what he is doing hasn't been done or hasn't been anything like it before is preposterous. Yes, he is taking the potential game winners those he should be lauded for instead of deferring. James has been spotty in crucial moments though.

Everything he does falls within the category of "never has been done", I'm already used to that. But as much as I hate to admit it, if he wins this, that would be an incredible achievement. He may very well have the worst supporting cast in NBA finals history. Now let's hope some of the Warriors' players find their big boy pants for the rest of the series and do to this Cavs team what they would during the regular season - i.e. completely destroy them.

BTW, I am curious as to how long the Kang can keep this up. He's playing incredible amounts of minutes and very intensive ones at that. I don't see him going on like this till the end of the series.

He will, but in what fashion? That's a lot of wear and tear, it should at least affect his all-time bestest FG% ;)

i really think kobe has faced the toughest competition on his path to 5 rings, even tougher than what MJ had to face

the competition lebron has faced since 2010 has been a complete joke
