The only car I can think of that's an upgrade from a Rolls is obviously the Ecto-1.

Still can't believe he is an LA Laker. One of the best trades in team history and a joy to watch. His game is extremely entertaining and effective.

It really is unbelievable. He helped put us over the top in his first year too. I am so thankful he's here. That's cool stuff from SI re: Kobe getting on the horn with Pelinka. Good to hear that he had the blessing of the Mamba as well as Lebron of course who helped coordinate it all.

I mentioned it elsewhere but not only trading for AD but locking him in at $190 million for the next five years seems like such a bargain in the current market. When Giannis is getting $228 million, Paul George $226 million and even Bam is getting $195 million for the same years it's amazing that AD is here for five at that price.

Just look at how much Ingram just got paid. If we had Ingram for 3-4 more seasons and AD didn't agree to re-signing, then maybe you don't make that trade. They basically both had one year remaining under their contract. AD is just entering his prime and can get so much better. Ingram put up nice numbers last season but we all know those numbers wouldn't have happened playing as a 2nd option behind LeBron. For just $6 million more per season, Lakers just got a top five NBA player and the best frontcourt player for the next five seasons. The Pelicans got someone who would be lucky to be a top 15 player for the next five seasons and Lonzo is due for a new contract next season which would likely be a $15-20 million offer per season. This is a robbery by the Lakers.

see...a smart gm would have traded this end-of-bench player for this better player whilst saving enough money to extend AD immediately so that he didn't leave after last year. and a bunch of other stuff. that i would have done. better.

you must not have been here during the trade fallout that summer. how many minutes would josh hart, lonzo ball, and jackson hayes get on our team this year, btw?

i mean, NO did fine in terms of getting a decent return (a young all star caliber player, some picks, role players) for a star demanding out. but we had a couple folks around here just beside themselves about giving all that up.

Lakers potentially trading the young assets for AD isn't a new subject that was exclusive to Lakersball. Every basketball site with Lakers fans already raised the hesitance in doing the trade so pretty much everything stated here has been stated on other basketball forums and media. As for Lonzo, Hart, Ingram, and the 4th pick, the Lakers would look a lot different than it is right now if they didn't trade for AD so that's a moot point. It was a robbery from the sense that the Pelicans weren't getting long-term assets that had value in return. Outside of the 4th and two other first round picks, Lonzo and Hart are due for a new contract after this season. Ingram just got a new contract. The amount of money needed to retain Hart+Lonzo+Ingram would've been around $60-65 million per season. Lakers are paying AD around $38 million per season. I don't think the Pelicans got enough long-term value to make this trade worth it and who knows if they will match what Hart+Lonzo can fetch in free agency. If they don't choose to match the offer, they just traded AD for Ingram, 4th pick in a weak draft, and two other first round picks that are TBD.

Well Rob was inexperienced and in over his head dealing with a respected pro in Griffin. Plus he didn’t know the cap stuff well and didn’t even try to offer AD a chance to re-sign with us then to be safe. In case he changed his mind after one season.

True. How do we give up Josh Hart in that trade? Josh Hart is so good at Fortnite and talking on the Twitter, yet we put him in the deal? Stupid Rob.
