Kuzma’s shot 30% from 3 in his 3 years in college. He has shot 33% from 3 so far in his 3 years in the NBA. The only reason it’s that high is because of his rookie year shooting 36%, the other 2 years he’s shot 30 and 31%. That’s 6 years of data and only one year that he shot the NBA average from 3. When does Kuz’s rookie year become the anomaly?

THT is playing the way Kuzma played his rookie year. Like Clarkson before him. Once the league starts to adjust, they have to adjust. Kuzma is having issues there.

well, it already is. the problem is that it was a full year, which is a big anomaly--people have hot months, but hot years are unusual. he wasn't injured after that or anything.

    i don't know; it's weird to me.

He actually passed the ball and found other players in position to score. Which... usually doesn't happen very often, you know.

That was definitely the highlight of the first game for Kuz. The shooting? Not so much. That’s why he needs to continue to come off the bench in the regular season. Too inconsistent with the shot. Surround him with Schroder and Trez.

I thought he had a very up and down first half, but he was way better in the second. Seems like as soon as he gets out of his own head and starts running around the court, playing off screens, cutting, catching and shooting, his game is so much better. Finished with 25 points on 8-14, 4-7 threes.

Much better. Nice to see some looks go down. The last second heave for three that went off the backboard was pretty funny. Did he call bank? But yeah, good stuff from Kuz tonight.

Kuzma needs less Mamba mentality and more Rip Hamilton on the Pistons juice.
He doesn't have a good enough shot to hit off-balance jumpers consistently and I doubt at this age he going to tighten up his handle to be a consistent one on one player.

What he's got going for him is that he has good height for a shooter, good cutter, and can beat smaller players in the post. In other words he's got the talent to a be a very good off ball player. Keep moving and playing D and let the game come to him

Will he be happy with an MLE type contract coming up?

we are going to have some VERY interesting personnel and payroll choices to make in the next few years.

he, caruso, and now THT are all looking at MLE or higher coming as soon as next year. but we have rights to all (THT's are more limited but we can pay him up to the MLE). the only guy we don't have great control over, contractually, is harrell. i'm guessing we'll find ways to work it out. good problem to have.

Oh good, we can all buy Kuzma clothes now.

Aside from the upcoming season to look forward to, Kuzma is manifesting his dreams off the court as well. He’s bringing his love and passion for fashion to life by debuting the clothing line, Childhood Dreams, where he serves as the Creative Director of the brand. Created with an emphasis on comfort, functionality and style through simple silhouettes that can be worn every day, dressed up or down, Kuzma is excited to share Childhood Dreams with the world.

If we get another Big that is in similar even slightly less talent range but is just focussed on basketball..... in trade for Kyle, I'm over this guy and not going to miss him when he's gone. Plus as sirron noted he sounds like a "genius" when he talks his stuff. Kardashians and "spotlights not streetlights" wrecked him it seems.

Handy can upgrade a slightly less talented big that is more focussed.
