Yeah. I want to say Wes was promised a starting spot as well. I think Wes will do exactly what Green did for us last season. He will start and play 20 minutes or so a game. Caruso, KCP and Schroder will split all the other guard minutes. It does make sense from a certain perspective. Lebron not carrying the ball up the court every possession will be paramount to preserving him for the playoffs. I liked Sky. He was a good poster. And I was on his side when it came to Fisher. Most overrated Laker ever. Sure he hit the occasional big shot, but if his defense wasn't so putrid, we wouldn't have needed those shots.
I remember the day he quit CL. Some idiot kept trolling about stupid s*** and I guess Sky didn't have the right stuff to just ignore it (was there a mute button on CL?) ..... so he announced he was done with the forum and quit. I was pissed. I was a groupie of his in my early days on line with Lakers fans.
I didn't get this at first but then read Savory's reply. Yeah he loved him some Marcus Banks. We all pined for some athletic guys who could defend and we went crazy when "Gumby" arrived as an "insider" and announced Ariza was going to sign with us.
well there you have it. i prefer him off the bench, but i can see the logic. i just don't want to waste harrell without a competent pick and roll handler, and schroder is sort of it for us. i like the GOAT (eagle) and all, but that's not his bag. nor is it lebron's.
Same, I personally thought it would make more sense to have him come off the bench, but I’m fine with him starting. What I’m not thrilled about though to be honest is how he seems to kinda be demanding/expecting a starting role. I hope that attitude changes once we get started and he realizes that Vogel will roll with the lineup that is performing best against each particular matchup.
I always hate when veterans demand or ask for a starting spot - especially when they are old. They should be willing to do whatever the team needs. If you're young and still need that $, I understand them wanting that starting spot but when you're old and on your way out, just do what the team needs. #1 reason why Dudley is well respected.
Lebron running the point is what made us unique to every single NBA team, and an impossible matchup. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say there’s no way Schröder will be a better point guard than Lebron is/was. Listening to him say how he wants to run the offense made me cringe.
Him saying he "intends" to be starting PG is still dependent on what the Coaching staff decides. Again, I just don't see that as his best use and I'm not convinced they will either. But as ever, we'll see. His skills are especially potent off the bench when Lebron is out, not in.
i think his attitude has been an issue at every stop. but so has rondo's, so we're used to it. he's still got cash to make. UFA next year. but yeah, he should know that a title with him as contributor is worth a lot more than him whining and creating friction during a title defense. yeah, guess i'll have to trust the organization on this one. my feeling is that one of our advantages last year was playing huge lineups because our "pg" was huge. i loved starting kcp and having him hound pgs with his length and quickness because we knew we could entrust the offense to our sf, which also allowed us to play a non-ballhandler at sg (green--and wes is from the same mold). again, vogel and rob and company are paid to think about these things, and i message board jockey, so...
And then there's this new. We'll see how good Frank is dealing with this guy's expectations and his willingness to broadcast what should be kept in house out of respect for the coach and the front office. We just won a championship. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/dennis...akers-danny-green-lebron-james-231530114.html
This f****** guy is pissing me off .... sorry. Maybe Dudz needs to organize a blanket party for him. Those are probably on hold too with the virus. It just "sounds" kind of outrageous to me the way he is coming off in the press. Like he's doing the Lakers a favor by playing for them. We want him and he can certainly help a great deal it seems but his attitude shows the champion Lakers and champion coach Vogel no respect for just coming off of it less than 2 months ago. "Schröder announces he intends to play starting PG, easing the load: “I did this off the bench stuff already ...”
