hmm so clippers didn't even offer anything to him? I kinda don't like that...wish it was "yeah they wanted me back but i said f*** off" I think Clippers probably didn't expect he'd end up with US though - that was the real shocker and for that, it's absolutely worth it
Man all the other Lakers moves have been fantastic but the Trez signing is a flyer. could go great or could just implode Don't like promising a starting spot: I mean the great thing about last year's team was you had guys willing to sit whole playoff series if that was the right thing to do. Don't want to see him b**** and moan if guys with 3 pt range like Morris and Kuzma see more minutes against the right matchups in the playoffs
Yeah I too wonder about these reports of promised starting roles like with Wes Matthews allegedly as well. Especially with a "players' coach" like Vogel is. That's one way to not foster the great chemistry he's known for creating and showed in spades this year. Players are going to want to know roles and minutes were earned, along with coaching staff's strategies that determine them.
Meh, unless you're Bron or AD, no starting role is guaranteed. Now, the POSSIBILITY of starting could have enticed them to come, but I'm pretty sure there were a lot more factors involved when they chose to sign here. That said, anyone who wants to b*** and complain while playing next to LeBron for the championship can go take a hike. Our team is deep enough to get by.
Okay, I haven't posted in a while. I tried to be good and enjoy the championship for as long as I could before I worried about next season, but damn, Rob has seriously done a job and a half!!! With Rob, Bron and Rich pulling the strings of the NBA, I am even happier to be a Laker fan. And even Trez is a Klutch guy haha
He better realize in the playoffs forget starting getting benched is a real possibility. I don't see Vogel if playing Dallas letting Carlisle pick on the drop coverage on Harell or Luka going Trez hunting for iso's. We have the apex predator in Lebron for hunting matchups and Vogel isn't going to make it easy defensively for any team and Trez better be ok with it. That being said Trez as a PF with AD at C on defense and then playing AD as the "stretch 4" with Trez at C on offense could be very difficult to defend and would cover most of his weaknesses on defense.
Anyone here remembers our 2015 Draft, we took DAngelo @2 and Nance Junior @27. Even Houston who drafted this guy @32 took Sam Dekker @18. Spurs took some Euro @26... His height I think was the biggest concern from scouts but he should have been a top 4 pick in retrospect over guys like Okafor and Hezonja
Montrezl now saying (spinning?) his impression was the Clippers didn't much want him back. Certainly not as much as Lakers wanted him. https://sports.yahoo.com/did-clippers-want-montrezl-harrell-021232841.html
