I think he’s worth Clarkson money. Same exact type of player as when we gave him his 2nd contract, bench guy that can score when called upon, but isn’t super reliable or doesn’t have one thing he’s amazing at. Yeah, contracts have gone way up since then, but the league isn’t exactly printing money without fans, more reasonable contracts should be handed out. I guess adjusting for inflation from Clarkson’s 5 mil per he might be worth 7 or 8 mil, I guess.

Good. Time to get off TWITter and focus on being a 3rd start on the Lakers. Contract year, make it happen.

If KCP comes back, Kuz’s ceiling is 5th best next year and that's if we don't make any other big additions. It's Bron, AD, Schroder, and KCP right now. If we manage to get Ibaka or Gallo, then Kuz drops to 6th at best.

Glad we stepped away from the social media. It wasn't doing him any favors.

didn't we pay clarkson 12 per? but yeah, i agree with the logic. if kuz has a healthy season wherein he is basically the same dude he's been, he'll be in line for a salary over the MLE (which is closer to 10 per now) but under 15 per.

LOL oh man my memory is going *facepalm*. I literally thought we paid Clarkson around 5.5 mil per for 5 years, but it was 50 mil over 5 years. So no, I wouldn’t want Kuz getting that, 8-9 mil at most if he levels out where he is. If he improves, yes I see him getting Clarkson money.

JC got 4 years at 50 million, so 12.5 a year.

one could argue he's been better than clarkson was, tbh. if we still sucked, he'd be stuffing stats.

He was probably informed that he might get traded. I think a lot of Laker fans bullied him on Twitter and now he's gone

    I would say 12 million a year, on a 3 + 1 deal.

i don't have much faith in kuz either but to early to write him off this early, he might get more opportunities if we don't find a Green replacement

I’m glad he’s off social media. He’s always been the most immature of all the young guns we had. Surprising seeing that he also was the oldest amongst them. He strikes me as far more concerned with being a celebrity than a basketball player. What he seems to not comprehend is the fame will come as a result of the work he puts in on the basketball court, and not vice versa.

    I’m still team Kuz.

Quote me on that at the end of the season, but yes I think he still has room to improve. Despite his age, he’s only about to start his 4th season and I think he can learn to play with AD efficiently. When AD was out he averaged about 20 per game this past season.

If he can settle into a role where he averages an efficient 15 pts, learns to play with AD on the court, and maintains the defensive growth, I think we can figure out a way to resign him since Yanis will be out of the picture.

How can you get bullied on twitter by a bunch of nobodies you don't even know? Sigh. At least he's off Twitter now, which is a huge positive. Let's go!

saw that suggestion (kuz/cook for tucker). don't think so. maybe if they added a first rounder? but tucker is long in the tooth and kuz is our last chance at developing a player. also, we might need to keep him as a mid-tier salary to use in trades going forward after next year.

tucker will probably be a more valuable player next year, though, i agree.
