9 seems really high but maybe I’d go 7 for a one year contract.

He says 9, we say 3. He comes down to 7, we come up to 4. We settle for 5.5M.

Rondo won't get that number from any team except the Clippers maybe.

During the season yeah but not his play in the post season. Just saying that and not that we should match any too high offers. A nice one season raise would be fair and not hurt us for 21.

I doubt the save everything for 21 plan is still a thing for the FO. Winning the championship should have changed that. Plus only Giannis is really worth it, and unless they have received some back channel message from him that he wants to come, that ship has already sailed.

Oh I agree. Seems like the word is he's going to take the supermax contract. And good point. If reasonable per year, give him 2 with team option for 3 at price he will accept to stay with a MUCH cooler team and town than anywhere else. Certainly more than the loser Clippers. He's no longer worthy of any positive L.A. sentiment if he opts for them. I just don't see that happening.

Kind of figured this when the Schroder trade was announced. Appreciate what Rondo did for us last year and will not fault him for trying to get a bigger deal elsewhere.

Same here. I feel like Rondo and Dwight deserve to do whatever they want since they vastly outplayed their contract and helped the Lakers win. My only hope is he doesn't go to the Clippers, though. If Clippers manage to get Dwight and Rondo, they would never be respected in LA again lol. Also, I don't know if we can go through the season with Rondo constantly getting injured again.

Going to miss playoff 'Do. Comeback when you're ready to be an assistant coach.

Extra props for the CP2 jab to the face. If he’s not here, hope he lands in a good place and prospers.

i don't know what to say. rondo on the hawks is a bad idea. another contending team? sure. but they generally have the same budgetary constraints.

i think us losing him hurts more than someone else gaining him, but the nba is silly.

thanks for helping with the title.

I don't blame him. If the Hawks are calling, they're offering more than the $9M MLE (otherwise he'd go to a playoff team). So if they're paying $12m+, he can't turn that down.

Hawks with another mismanagement of money. They control free agency singlehandedly with their money and they're going to lock up 1/3 of it on Rondo? He's a great coach and mentor for Trey, but I don't think he can get him to suddenly not be awful on D.

He should take the Hawks offer. His last contract in the NBA. No hard feelings.
