well, he can't play much worse, seriously. getting absolutely torched on d while providing ZERO on offense is sort of the nadir. maybe we need to play tht instead.
Honestly any perimeter option we have is a better one at this point. THT, Kuz, JR (outscored Danny last night in 5 minutes), or even Waiters (don't care if Vogel isn't a fan... he's better). Honestly if we made a change, it'd probably be starting Bald Eagle, moving KCP to the 3, and upping Kuz's minutes. After this series, Danny's got to go. I think we can get something for him if we package Kuz. But I'm at the point, I'd even give up a 2nd rounder for someone to take him, just to get the roster spot clear. There will be at least 8 better options for the min this off season.
only thing i'll say is that green plays within our team defense concepts better than most of our other options, so maybe that's how he's been able to stay on the floor. until last night, we'd been pretty good in terms of rotating and recovering, etc. and yeah, the clock's pretty much out on him. he'd have to basically win us a game single-handedly at this point, and even that might be enough to justify keeping him around. he didn't provide what we needed. we'll be able to bring in a vet min off the street that can challenge for his minutes next year.
Doesn't he have a bad hip from game 2? Not an excuse for him, because he wasn't playing that much better before, but it's more of why aren't we letting literally anyone else give it stab? Unleash, THT or Waiters and park his butt on the bench.
still think it's important to trust your team defenders, especially against miami's offense. so if you have any reservations about THT (a rookie who barely played) or JR smith (noted for not keeping his head in the game or knowing his team schemes) or waiters (same), you sort of have to roll with green and hope he remembers how to shoot. if he wants to continue living in la, his only chance is to knock down some shots and win a ring now.
Danny Green was EXCELLENT in the season opener against the Clippers. Just need him to come through in these last few games, and then I promise I’ll forget about all the trash in the middle and still look back on his Laker tenure fondly (after we trade him in the summer).
you think lac is gona take him? I dont want him back no matter he does with the reamining gamesmcdisbelieveyou:
I have a busted old lawn mower. 100% positive I can park it behind the 3 point line and it'll give more production than Danny.
I think DG is going to come through in one of these games. To be fair, he was actually good in Game 1, but he disappeared last 2 games. I think he's going to have a similar game to game 1 in today's game...I haven't given up on him YET. With that said, I wouldn't mind Vogel mixing it up a bit and maybe bringing DG off the bench to play against the HEAT backups instead.
I guess gm1 is considered "good" when compared to what hes done gm 2/3, when by normal standards thats just a decent gm, what kuz n morris did in gm 3 is the standard for a "good" gm offensively by a role player
I gave up on Danny Green a very very very very long time ago. I was a constant defender of his but I can't find any reason to do so when he plays this awful in the playoffs. When you get paid $15 million and the sole reason of you being on the team is to hit threes and defend but you seemingly can't do either at a high level, it's a huge problem. $15 million could have gone to someone who is actually providing results.
1 more win for the ring but more importantly, so we never have to see this guy suit up for the Lakers again.
