that knucklead JR Smith winning a title will be like when that knucklehead Rasheed Wallace won a title would hate to see it happen
It was pretty obvious he had a concussion. He was throwing up after the game and his freaking ear was bleeding... When's the last time a dude got kneed so hard his ear was bleeding but didn't have a concussion? His agent shouldn't have said anything. I hope he's fine for Game 1 but at worst he'll miss the first couple games.
If you look up all of lebrons playoff runs, and see how many key players have been injured on the other team, its actually pretty astonishing. If the warriors don't have a key player injured, warriors in 6
I absolutedly this. Hearing from Luke Walton whom we all know is a bright guy around a basketball court. Steve Nash if you search, yesterday or the day before called him already the greatest shooter in NBA history. Nash knows a thing or two about that as well. I have Never liked an opponent as much as I like Steph Curry. I think it's the been there done that coolness and fun with which he celebrates his epic moments. Not the primal screaming look at my big heart I'm pounding on reactions. More ...... ummm.......errrr......ugghhh .....Baseball like. So you don't get your head taken off next time at the plate with a 98mph heater. Luke Walton interview snippet: On Steph Curry closing out the Warriors’ scrimmage yesterday and the big moment Posted on June 2, 2015 by Tim Kawakami OAKLAND–I thought just one bit of my 25-minute conversation with Luke Walton from yesterday’s “TK Show” might be interesting … I’m also planning to use a big chunk of it in my column for later today, so I had to transcribe it, and when I transcribe something I usually post it here, anyway. So here’s Luke Walton’s very specific answer when I asked him if Stephen Curry is currently at the extra special championship-winning MVP level of LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. -Q: You’ve played with Kobe Bryant. Do you see Steph at that highest level? -WALTON: One hundred percent. Even in our scrimmage today—Steph just, he loves the moment. Second unit was beating the first unit, and they went up three, and the blues, the second unit, was yelling ‘No threes!’ And Steph nails a three. Second unit goes up again, scores again, Justin Holiday puts them up three with 12 seconds left; no panic on Steph’s face, gets the ball in the corner, I mean he wasn’t even open, hits another three. Just kind of smirks, runs back down on defense. “He has the ability to love the moment, to want to take the big shot and elevates his game in the big moments, which we’ve seen all along.” -Q: So is Steph feeling good right now? Fresh legs? -WALTON: Steph isn’t the guy on the team I’m worried about when we get to the finals. Whether he’s got fresh legs or not, I think he’s going to do just fine. It’s some other things and other people who are going to need to step up. http://blogs.mercurynews.com/kawaka...riors-scrimmage-yesterday-and-the-big-moment/
Hmmmm..... I had never once ever thought about that. Thanks for the idea to file away for future consideration and you called it first. If it happens.
I love Ollie. Lord knows that. He's my man at UCONN who I think is going to make a fantastic head coach. Nevertheless, Walton has been exposed to the best offense and the best defense (efficiency wise) with the Golden State Warriors. He's learning under Gentry (superb offensive coach) and Kerr who's doing an incredible job. He's apart of a staff that's taking this team to the Finals. Now, I think over the next year with Gentry's departure, you'll see Walton take a more hands on approach the next year or so and his name will be floating around within 2 years as head coaching material. Plus, he's family.
Walton as Lakers coach? He has the prerequisite basketball IQ. He had a college stint somewhere before landing in Golden State so he is not inexperienced in a sense.
Yes, it's possible, IMO. I'd give him 2 more years under Kerr on that staff and then we could discuss that as an option.
All these men have something in common IMO...a sense of calm, unassuming demeanor but no pushovers when it comes to managing egos. They all were not celebrated individuals within the ranks and as former players so their personalities aren't outsized. When Bogut made that comment about a coach not being full of himself making a difference, it is very telling how great or impact players not being able to translate their mindset to head coaching or at least not wearing out their welcome in a short span like Mark Jackson did.
It also speaks to one's communication abilities. For instance, those coaches don't just have the ability to relate or get a message across to a 'star' player, but they have they ability to get that message across to the last guy on the roster who might never see the floor at all. That's the unique ability I love in a coach, and I loved about Phil.
Listening to the 25 minute interview that Walton had with San Jose Mercury News. This guy is going to be a head coach.
I always had a feeling, that out of all the "Phil guys" (Harper, Fish, Shaw, Mark etc.) Luke would be the best coach. Someday we'll know .
Marc Stein✔@ESPNSteinLine Klay Thompson, I'm told, has just been cleared to play in Game 1 of the NBA Finals
