Hey new guy. Please don’t quote me and complement LeBron in the same post, thanks.

I just wanted to echo the chorus of voices here who, like me, live to see the Clippers lose. I couldn't stand them before they paraded themselves around town like champs, and I despise the current incarnation. Throughout the whole year, as the basketball world fell over itself to crown them the new kings of LA, I kept the mantra going. "Clippers gonna Clip." When they went up 3-1, I figured in all likelihood they were going to make the conference finals and break the curse, but I always suspected this could just be a prelude to the greatest Clipjob of all time. That game 7 loss gave me elation like I haven't felt in a long time. The reactions online have just been incredible and I have been BATHING in this joy for the last 48 hours. Really looking forward to game 1 against the Nuggets, but it's gonna be a while before this Clipping high wears off.

After reading the article, in my book, the C Bags have 13 asterisks on their championships.

I felt like there were some bad signs for the Clippers going into game 7. Before game 7, Kawhi was starting to look tired. That does not excuse a superstar and self proclaimed King for choking, but he looked burnt out getting them past the Mavericks, and as far as a game 7. The media pretended like Kawhi's brilliance got them past the Mavericks yet he was completely outplayed by Luka, and expended so much energy winning that series.

I also felt Patrick Beverley lost all confidence in his three point shooting, and was looking to pass it to somebody else. The other issues around Williams, George and Harrell are well documented already, so I need not repeat them.

I had been having a hard time getting into this restart. It just didn't feel like real basketball. As I watched the Clippers fall apart in that fourth quarter, it sort of re-energized my interest in the season. I'm now back in.

Nick Wright actually made a good point. (Which is inconceivable, but it happened). The Clippers have 2 stars and a bunch of specialists. They don't have well rounded players. And their specialties aren't super valuable in the playoffs. Harrel is an energy guy who plays defense, but in the playoffs, everyone already plays with a lot of energy and the defenses tighten. Lou Williams historically becomes worthless in the playoffs since defenses tighten and they are allowed to get away with more. Williams doesn't get all those free throws he usually gets. So if he isn't scoring like usual, and he can't play defense, he's pretty worthless. PG-13 hasn't had a good playoffs since before he broke his leg.

I think Nick Wright also commented during the season how the Clippers were still adding to their squad, which seemed to him to be a bit of an insecurity that they still needed more pieces to win the championship. The rest of the media instead was being pathetic "everybody snubbing the Lakers for the Clippers" and "wow the Clippers just keep getting better and better".

I had reservations at first. But when you consider how locked in this team is, then I also took it more serious. Bron doing away with his extended entourage (though the rules might have prevented them from entering the bubble anyway?). Caruso not attending his sisters wedding. Dion Waiters and JR Smith (to our knowledge) staying out of trouble. Howard and Rondo (to our knowledge) not being annoying distracting team mates. McGee and Howard seeing the bigger picture and not complaining about less minutes recently. AD not complaining when needed to play centre. Kuzma no longer worried about his role in the squad. I can also see that Bron respects the hell out of Coach Vogel on defence, and coach Kidd (and Coach Rondo) from a playmaking point of view.

Basically I can sum up my post by saying that everybody from our superstars to role players are committed to winning. It's just a great feeling knowing how dysfunctional we've been for a decade.

I actually thought we stunk (form wise) when we first got into the bubble, so I was a bit worried. But all the above was going to eventually work in our favour when the moments got bigger for our rivals.

I thought we matched up badly with the Clippers.
I also thought we were going to lose to them in a 7 game series.

    Glad to be wrong.

Barkley "astutely" commented that Davis would have destroyed their little guys only The Joker got 'em first. Barkley and astute in the same sentence. 2020 is THAT year.

This is the most focused LeBron-team I've ever seen. Everyone from the roster is focused and committed to winning. The coaches are NEVER in the spotlight and coach their butts off. I've yet to hear one thing about any locker room issues. I think Jared Dudley is a huge reason for that and it'd be great if the Lakers find a way to pick him up into their staff next season. More-so than anything, the chemistry this team has with each other is why you need great leaders. Clippers had no leader and their team felt awkward and out of sync. The Lakers are filled with hungry vets and leaders who want to win for Kobe. Dwight, Rondo, McGee, Dudley...all professionals who are doing what it takes and no excuses.

Lakere beat the Clippers the last two meetings. Lakers would have beat the Clippers in 5 or 6. Lakers are the best team in the NBA.

Doc Rivers calmly dissecting the seasons conclusion and assessing the changes needed for a championship run next year.

Combined with Balmer trying to resurrect his moribund draft pick options.

Doc Rivers will find a way to finesse Balmer again... I wouldn't be surprised if Doc Rivers ends up being the CEO of Microsoft. He should be fired from the Clippers at this point.

Balmers rational for thinking that Playoff Paul could play and Lou Williams could defend.
